Such a nice resort, right on the river, with a very friendly staff. The rooms are will kept, very clean, but also quite antiquated and probably never updated since they were built. Almost felt like stepping back in time into the 1980s, which actually made for an enjoyable and nostalgic stay. Nice RV sites, a boat ramp, and fun amenities. Would definitely consider staying here again.

We just had our family reunion here and it was absolutely perfect. Great Lake access, pool was nice and relaxing. The lodge was the central location for gathering together for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The kitchen in the lodge and in our cabin (7) was fully stocked. We can’t wait to do it again.

After decades having our Aggie circle of friends reunion elsewhere, we moved it to Heart of Texas. Major upgrade. Loved the shade of the trees, the view of the lake, the air conditioned roomy lodge for our dinners and boat slips and lake/river front. We’ll be back each year.
