Customer Reviews
Disappointed! My family has been coming to the KOA Ivy Lea every years and over the recent years we have made it a tradition to attend with friends and family over the Thanksgiving weekend for the festivals that are offered (Turkey pot luck dinner/Halloween) It seems that since the new owners have taken over the quality has really come down year after year. 1. The park has many broken items that really should be addressed, I would like to know if this park would meet CSA regulations as there were carabiners holding links together on the swing. 2. Cleanliness - the bathrooms are gross. The showers needs some TLC and elbow grease to clean. Mild on the walls and the shower heads have no water pressure because there is too much build up on them. The change pad for the kids is filthy, there was poop on it still. Someone should be checking the bathrooms every hour and make sure they are clean. 3. the pool, our kids enjoy the idea of swimming in October still and every year for the last few years they have been able to actual swim in the pool because it was heated. This year it was not. I complained to the office but "I'm sorry" was the answer, you think in a costumer service base that they would try to resolve the issue. DO NOT ADVERTISE A 86 F pool if you can not offer that you advertise. To me this is false advertising. The pool was cold, the only warm part was the little spa that offers 3-4 kids max in there. The hot tub was rammed with 20 people all day long. So disappointed. Especially for the parents who has small children who NEED an adult with them in the pool. 4. Nature trails are overgrown (use to be behind the cabins) 5. No fun events for the kids like the other KOA offer in the day (such as a scavenger hunt) though I understand that this is a charity weekend, it would be nice to have some more things for the kids. ie the rockets should have been 1-2$ not 4$ its paper and foam only ONLY. 6. Turkey dinner - Limited amount! enough said - near the end there was not as much left for anyone. It changed a lot from what it use to be (an event were all were in a pop up tent with tables and chairs and plenty of food) For the $130/night that we pay you think it would offer more. Sadly, 2024 was the last year for our family and friends at Ivy Lea to do Thanksgiving. Not worth the drive and the cost. If the new owners will just be taking the profit and not putting it back into the park, it will never become better. Sad as this WAS the nicest KOA and worth the additional cost but not anymore. Not worth the extra funds to spend.
Pull through sites are TINY. We had probably about 2 feet of gravel on either side of us before the neighbors RV started. Pools are also extremely small, the pictures do them a bit too much justice. Some decent activities for kids but not as many as I would have expected given the price. Playground is okay but extremely old and tired looking. For one of the most expensive places my family stayed on our two week trip, we were hoping for a lot more. I could not wait to leave this dump. The website also says that you can walk to the water/ferry rides from here but that is also untrue. Sure you could do it, but it’d take you half a day. You definitely need a car to get around to anywhere interesting. If you can, I recommend avoiding this site. Costs way too much for what you get.
Great spot for kids! They have a tv lounge for kids to watch Bluey while you check-in. The heated pools are great for my little one. Huge playground and a fun jumping pillow. I loved my stay but some things could improve. There was a nonsensical sign saying not to charge your EV and that it could damage your car. The shower curtains were moldy and slimy. The check-in staff couldn't speak basic french and seemed annoyed about it so I translated to help the flustered guest. Overall I loved the place and the staff were helpful and welcoming.
Great service, friendly staff, and beautiful location. From the start the service was great, quick, and pleasant. Got to our site and although initially we were not impressed it turned out to be perfect for us older adults, quiet and private. People around us were very friendly and enjoyed seeing children running around at the park. Did not get to use the pool or hot tub but they looked nice. Did use the outdoor gym and found it challenging. There is a very nice and extensive bike path and we went all the way to downtown Gananoque, 14 Km., with beautiful views along the way. Great place to relax and enjoy mother nature’s beauty.
Not what we expected for $100. Per night. Place looks run down, grounds not well kept. Pretty sure we have the only lot without sewer. Way to many dogs. Can hardly park our car in front of the rv. Small lots. We won't be back. The fire pit looks like a pretty dangerous piece of galvanized pipe, whoever thought of those should be fired.
