5K Arena is conveniently located at 2020 Marsh Rd, Bladenboro, NC 28320, USA. This placement in Bladenboro, a charming town in Bladen County, puts it within easy reach for many North Carolina residents. It's situated in the southeastern part of the state, making it an ideal destination for those coming from the eastern and central regions, and a convenient stopover for travelers on longer journeys.
Accessibility to 5K Arena is excellent. Marsh Road is a well-maintained local road that allows for easy navigation, even for large rigs with horse trailers. The facility is designed with ample wide-open spaces for trailer parking, alleviating the stress often associated with maneuvering large vehicles at event venues. Its location provides a balance of a peaceful rural setting while still being accessible from major routes. While not directly on an interstate, its proximity to towns like Elizabethtown and Lumberton (which is on I-95) means it's a manageable drive from many parts of North Carolina, typically involving straightforward highway access before turning onto local roads. The ease of getting in and out with any size truck and trailer is a consistently praised aspect, making it highly suitable for its primary users.
5K Arena is designed to be a comprehensive facility for equestrian events and offers a range of services to accommodate both horses and their human companions.
RV Hookup Sites: The arena boasts a significant number of RV spots, potentially around 100, offering electric, water, and sewer hookups. It's noted that while hookups are available, not every site has septic, and availability is on a first-come, first-served basis. Rates are typically around $30/night for electric and water hookups, and $40/night for full hookups.
Horse Stables: With well over 100 stalls available, 5K Arena can accommodate a large number of horses. Stalls are typically available for rent (e.g., $25/night or $45/weekend), and some reviews mention that shavings are provided or available for purchase on-site (e.g., $6/bag).
Wash Rack Area: A dedicated area is available for washing horses, making it convenient to keep your equine partners clean and comfortable after events or travel.
Restroom and Shower Facilities: Basic restroom facilities (one toilet for men, one for women) and two shower rooms (each with one toilet) are available. While clean, it's noted that these facilities might be limited for very large events, suggesting many visitors utilize the living quarters in their horse vans.
Small Restaurant/Concessions: During events, a small restaurant area typically offers basic food options, providing a convenient dining solution without needing to leave the premises.
On-Site Owners/Hosts: Owners Dave and Ivy King are frequently praised for their exceptional hospitality, making guests feel like family and ensuring a comfortable stay. They are often on-site and readily available.
24-Hour Arrivals/365 Days a Year: The facility is set up to accommodate arrivals around the clock, offering flexibility for travelers.
Extra Shavings Available: For horse stalls, additional shavings can be purchased on-site if needed.
The true appeal of 5K Arena lies in its specialized features and the vibrant atmosphere it cultivates, especially for the equestrian community.
Exceptional Equestrian Facilities: The arena's primary highlight is its impressive infrastructure for horse events. This includes:
Large Covered Arenas: Multiple covered arenas are spacious and well-lit, providing excellent conditions for various horse events regardless of weather.
Extensive Stabling: Over 100 solid, heavy-duty stalls cater to a large number of horses, complete with feeders and buckets.
Safe Turnout Space: Available areas for "play" or turnout for horses add to the comprehensive care options.
Versatile Event Venue: 5K Arena hosts a wide array of horse-related events, including barrel racing, team penning, ranch sorting, and various ranch horse shows and clinics. This makes it a dynamic hub for the North Carolina equestrian circuit.

Customer Reviews
A wonderful spot for horse events. There are wide open spaces for trailer parking and probably about 100 spots for hookups. Electric, water and sewer hookups are available, but it's first come, first serve and not every site has septic. The covered arenas are large and well lit. The stables are a bit dark, but there are many of them. I couldn't say the exact number, but it's well over 100. They do have a small restaurant area with basic food during events. There's also a wash rack area to give your horses a bath. The rest room facilities are not equal to the number of possible people at a large event. A one toilet men's room, the same for women, and two shower rooms with one toilet each. Luckily, most folks had horse vans with living quarters when we were there and probably used their own facilities.
The owners, Dave and Ivy King, are awesome hosts. This was our second time here and they make everyone feel like family.
