This unique destination offers a blend of rustic charm and essential amenities, catering to a wide array of outdoor enthusiasts, from traditional tent campers and RV travelers to those seeking a cozy cabin experience. A-Lodge Salida embodies a philosophy centered around "Access, Adventure, and Amenities," aiming to provide guests with a seamless gateway to the region's abundant outdoor pursuits while offering comfortable and convenient accommodations.
The environment surrounding A-Lodge Salida is nothing short of spectacular, characteristic of the stunning Colorado Rockies. Tucked between the majestic Sawatch Range and the flowing Arkansas River, the property offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and immediate proximity to natural beauty. Guests are immersed in a high-altitude setting, enjoying crisp mountain air and a sense of serenity. The Arkansas River, renowned for its gold-medal fishing waters and world-class whitewater rafting, is a dominant natural feature, providing opportunities for various water-based activities right at the doorstep. The landscape features a mix of wooded areas and open spaces, with the sound of the river often audible, creating a tranquil ambiance. The natural environment encourages exploration, with direct access to an extensive network of trails for hiking and mountain biking. The region experiences distinct seasons, with vibrant fall foliage, snow-capped peaks in winter, and lush greenery in spring and summer, each offering a unique backdrop for adventure. The property itself is designed to harmonize with this natural setting, fostering a sense of connection to the outdoors while providing a comfortable retreat.
As a multifaceted establishment in the Campgrounds & RV Parks category, A-Lodge Salida provides a comprehensive range of services and accommodation types to suit every kind of adventurer. For RV enthusiasts, the lodge offers full-hookup pull-through RV sites, equipped with 30 and 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections. These sites are designed for ease of parking and provide ample space for guests to spread out. Tent campers can choose from peaceful creekside tent sites, offering a more primitive experience under the stars, or electrified tent sites for added convenience. Beyond traditional camping, A-Lodge Salida also features a selection of cabins, including premium and primitive options, providing a comfortable indoor lodging experience. All guests have access to a range of essential amenities, including a well-maintained bathhouse with restrooms and showers, and on-site laundry facilities, which are particularly beneficial for longer stays. A community room is available, providing a shared space for guests to meet, socialize, and relax. For pet owners, A-Lodge Salida is pet-friendly, with designated cabins, tent sites, and RV areas welcoming furry companions, and a dedicated dog run for playtime. The staff is often described as "adventure concierge," ready to provide local advice on trails, activities, and the best ways to explore the Salida area. Wi-Fi is available in key lodge areas and often has reliable cell service for most major carriers, although the property encourages a certain level of digital detox to fully appreciate the natural surroundings. Early check-in and late check-out requests can often be accommodated, subject to availability, enhancing the flexibility for travelers.
A-Lodge Salida boasts several unique features that distinguish it as an adventure-focused basecamp. Its core philosophy of "Access, Adventure, and Amenities" is woven into every aspect of the guest experience. The property's direct access to world-class outdoor activities is a major draw. For mountain bikers, it offers immediate proximity to renowned singletrack trails, and there are plans to add features like a pump track and bike wash station, further cementing its appeal to the cycling community. Fly fishing enthusiasts will appreciate the easy access to the gold-medal waters of the Arkansas River, known for its abundant trout. Whitewater rafting and kayaking opportunities are also readily available on the river. For hikers, the lodge serves as a gateway to numerous trails, including access to nearby "14ers" (mountains over 14,000 feet). During the winter months, the lodge provides an excellent base for skiing and snowshoeing at nearby Monarch Mountain. The communal fire pits foster a strong sense of community, encouraging guests to share stories of their adventures and connect with fellow outdoor enthusiasts. The ongoing improvements to the cabins, RV park, and tent campsites demonstrate a commitment to enhancing the guest experience. The integration of hotel-style amenities with traditional camping options creates a hybrid lodging experience that caters to a broad audience, from seasoned adventurers to families seeking a comfortable yet adventurous vacation. The location, just minutes from historic downtown Salida, allows guests to enjoy the town's vibrant arts scene, shops, dining, and cultural attractions, providing a perfect balance of wilderness immersion and urban convenience. The conversion from a KOA to an A-Lodge signifies a strategic shift towards a more curated and adventure-centric experience, making it more than just a place to stay, but a hub for exploration.

Customer Reviews
Whoever bought this from the KOA needs to give it back, this place is in shambles, no running water yesterday morning, no one on site working on it, absolutely no information posted anywhere even at the main office about rules and regulations, no map ofbthe layout, no late check in information, nothing, was give no code for bathroom door and no one in the office. If you look on the koa/alodge Google listing you can see all the bad reviews they've gotten before they changed the name
This was such a great place to stay and the scenery was amazing! The cabins were also so clean and nice to stay in. We will definitely be back soon
A-Lodge was an amazing trip for our family. We booked a deluxe cabin for the adults and a primitive cabin for the kids. They were clean and perfect for our trip.
Loved our stay. It’s near all the great restaurants but it’s also quiet and peaceful. Great outdoor facility . Very scenic
Stayed here with my son. A great campground with new owners that have an exciting vision for the property. Highly recommend.
