Great place we walk every day but are giving it up due to the many owners who do not leash their dogs. Of course, the rules don't apply to them! I have asked a few and they are very aggressive in responding that their dog wouldn't hurt a flea. Really? I have an 8 pound dog and as much as I know him, I have no idea what he would or wouldn't do in a certain situation. They are dogs! Little ones always are seriously injured or killed by big dogs. There are signs throughout the park that they must be leashed and picked up after as there is a lot of feces laying around. So, after consulting my dog trainer he suggested that I carry bear spray which I now have. The sad thing is that a dog is going to bear the pain of that when it is the owner's fault. The other day we were there and a large standard poodle was running off leash. A woman was walking and I can only imagine that she was bitten by a dog as she was screaming to please keep the dog away from her. Of course the owner stated that the dog was friendly and not to worry. There was a couple who consoled her and walked her to her car. Why??? I don't know why someone does not patrol the park. You want revenue for PCB fine these people as it's the only way to learn a lesson.
We had a great time at the Southern Living UnWine event filled with tastings of wine, food, beer, demonstrations, many vendors, and topped off with the concert with 3 different performances. Perfect weather added to the ambiance.
Lovely park next to Pier Park. This is a great place to walk. A lot of families come here and ride their bikes. There’s plenty of grass and lots of trees and shade. There are benches everywhere to sit and eat lunch. There’s also several buildings where you can use the restroom and wash your hands. There are also water fountains as well.
It was so nice and pretty. The little fire Pitts for the s'mores we great. Love the movie, Polar Express. The symphony was beautiful. Will come again next year.
Large park with plenty of shade, bike and walking trails, multiple soccer fields, amphitheatre, stage, some shaded parking, veterans monument, clean restrooms, soda machine, next to Margaritaville and the rest of Pier Park. 5 stars
