Awesome facility great amenities. The only reason for four stars is the booking process. We did not have reservations, but they did have plenty of openings. The website shows completely booked. They told us we have to check out and back in to the same spot, because they don't know if our space is reserved the following day. I guess I just don't understand why they don't know if spots are reserved or not??? Seems like their processes could use updating. Like I said, no complaints other than that. Park ranger was very friendly and helpful, as I could tell she also isn't a fan of the system.
First time staying here and we loved it! There was lots of wildlife so make sure you listen when they tell you to lock up your food!
One of our favorite places. We come here every year and spend about a week. We love this campground. The majority of sites are very spacious and private. The kids love the paved roads and riding bikes. The weather is wonderful and there are little to no bugs! I wish the state would update the bathrooms. Bathrooms and showers are generally clean but very old. Lots of easy hikes and lovely views.
Easy access to shoreline via the rim trail. Thickly settled, but I’ve seen worse. We had totally rambunctious immediate neighbors, but that’s the luck of the draw. Would return if I was a camper and/or didn’t live on the East coast.
So far its amazing, day one my camp is the shire, I left triple digits in sacatomatoes and it's misting here droplet after slow relaxing droplet.
