Great picnic area, nature path and hike over to the canpground.
Every time I travel I'm astonished at the parks and facilities we have scattered around the US. This is the center of the Corp of Engineers managing the dam and lake, but there are still restrooms, a water filling station, picnic areas and trails. You can go in to see some history displays and ask questions. If you're in the neighborhood, it's worth a stop, especially if you grab one of the picnic tables overlooking the lake.
Visitor center was closed for Labor Day but this was a nice little hike from my campsite. I'd call it an easy trail, fairly even, and mostly well marked with flagstone.
Scenic place to stop and catch a short hike . Clean rest rooms too..
Great campsite with great hiking
