Customer Reviews
We have stayed on the lake 4 times now and I love it more each time! It is so beautiful and quiet. The park rangers/host are very friendly and the facilities are clean and accessible. The playground is in great condition and the spots are laid out well to allow for larger rigs (spots 009 and 010 for sure). The lake is quiet every time we go and you can see the stars in the night sky. A wonderful place to stop in New Mexico.
The area is nice looking, the lake has some nice spots for fishing and maybe swimming. Some fish you can find here are walleye, bass, catfish, etc but maybe it's a myth because we didn't catch anything. The area is rugged due to a lot of rocks. Do NOT come camping in April, it's very windy and not enjoyable. The campgrounds are too close to each other, the other campers are just feet away. They do provide tables, fire pits, poles for hanging lanterns. You park in a designated parking then walk to the campground, you can't park your vehicle next to the campground. The campgrounds have a designated area with gravel to set up your tent. There's a faucet for drinkable water, restrooms (no hand soap) and showers nearby. There's also hiking trails. Multiple signs for no drinking alcohol. Dog friendly however dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6' long. Lots of cool rocks and trees. A few playgrounds nearby.
Lovely views from the campground and hiking trail alongside it. Took so many pics! Passing through Santa Fe so only 1 night stay but will definitely go back.
Drove in late at 9 pm. Had no reservation. Host (Bill) took time to make a reservation for us on his computer and directed us to an available campsite close to the showers. Came shortly after to make sure we had set up. Great service. Nice place to camp. Warm showers. Convenient dump station. Beautiful, Quiet campground.
Wonderful staff, very clean campground all with great views of Abiquiu Lake.
