  • "We stayed 4 nights at site 30 and it killed me to have to leave!! Location is perfection; quiet quiet quiet. Easy to get to the National Park. The friendliest and helpful staff gave us so many fantastic recommendations. 5-minute walk to a lovely seafood dine-in/take-out. Super clean bathrooms, great water pressure, laundry, and the cutest camp store. Sunsets were divine. It seems this campground draws a certain type of folk who respect and appreciate the raw and rugged beauty of the area. We will be back!!"
  • "We enjoyed our stay here. The sights are gravel and site G was pretty level. It is about an hour from Bar Harbor which is far enough from the crazy. Very close to Schoodic Peninsula. We came at the end of the season, they were not even close to full. The staff is out and about constantly and the park is clean and organized. Lights out at 9:30 pm so you can enjoy the stars and boy are there stars. Upon arrival, we were treated to a 15-minute what is in the area briefing that was very helpful."

While the location is ideal to reach Bar Harbor and likely great for people with trailers, it is a terrible location for people with tents. I was all excited to find the 2 only tent sites available so I could choose site #2. Well, the road noise was unbearable- it was as if the trucks and cars were going to crash right into my tent. The staff’s reaction the next day when I stopped by the registration building to find out my options was: ‘well, last night ( a Monday night) was unusually loud.’ Think twice about tenting here. Drive a little more and camp in beautiful national bar harbor campsite near Winter Harbor & the Schoodic institute for 1/2 the price.

We recently visited this campground after several years on MDI. We were looking for a little different pace. This campground puts you roughly 45 minutes back west to MDI and roughly 30 minutes to the Schoodic Peninsula. Campground was staffed by extremely nice people and very helpful. The bathrooms are a bit outdated but clean and very hot water!! Sites can be close to very close with little to no natural barriers. It was maybe 20% occupancy on our visit but still found ourselves sandwiched between to “Montana” type 5th wheel. Views are generally pleasing and the sunsets from the beach and common are are fantastic. To the south and west there clear views of Champlain, Dorr, and Cadillac mountains in the main park. A couple local restaurants and breakfast nooks make food options actually pretty accessible. Not to discourage a visit, it’s a fine campground but be aware that separation from other campers can be hard.

Great RV park. Very clean and tidy. Friendly and helpful staff. Dog friendly. Good view of the cove. Good access to Acadia Schoodic District of the park. Shower/bathroom facilities are clean. Sites are pretty level. A couple of really nice tent sites, too. Lots of grassy areas to walk dogs. A nice FCFS common area down by the water with Adirondack chairs and fire rings. They have a "honey wagon" service for a small fee if you need to enpty tanks and you don't have a site with sewer. Walking distance to a good local seafood place next to the park. My only minor dissatisfaction is that most of the sites are pretty close together.
