After a five plus mile drive on a dusty gravel windy road WOW ❣️ About a half mile hike from the parking area it opens up to this amazing beautiful lake❣️ there are multiple campsites around the lake some over a mile hike. For a fee camp Post will take all your goods to your campsite via ATV w/ trailer. Current 2023 day use fees $7 per vehicle, camp site & kayak daily rentals $35 each. It was a beautiful 85° the water around the edge of the lake was warm and very refreshing. Perfect place for a family float, swim, splash, picnic even bring your wakeboards no motorized boats allowed This lake is breathtaking and very tranquil ❣️

We drove all the way to the second lake, and camped in a little spot near the end gate. Perfect for 17 ft RV, which was ready to go for off-grid! The Little upper lake is beautiful, and has many tent camping sites. We then drove down to the main lake, and walked the 2-mile loop with the kids and the dog. There's 20 camp sites around the lake, all close to the water. This place is such a gem! Perfect for kids, while still being in the wilderness. We came the 1st of October, which is after the camp host season, but still amazing

Squaw lakes was (as always) amazing! It's a bit more crowded than it used to be which was a little rough on us as we go out there to get away from the people LOL but still worth the drive and the walk. The lake, day use spots, and all campsites are walk in only so be prepared to walk for about 20 minutes from your car to get to the water. Our campsite #16 was quite a ways away from the lake so I don't think we'll do that spot anymore but it was nice that it was also away from any other campsites. Site #16 is a group site with three spots for up to 15 people. It was only two of us but it was nice and roomy.

Beautiful lake but the gate was closed to get in. We wanted to kayak there but it was too far to carry the kayaks in on foot. We ate lunch and left.

Beautiful lake with great camping areas all the way around the lake. Lots of space between camping sites. It's a small, quiet lake. Great for dogs! A bit of a warning: there are only a couple of outhouses around this lake so you might have to walk .25 miles or more to the nearest "bathroom" (outhouse with no running water). Also, if you plan to camp here, know that you will have to pack your gear in (unless you pay additional for having your items hauled in and out). We had to pack all of our gear over a mile to our campsite. It was exhausting! If it weren't for having to pack all you gear in and out AND if there were more outhouses (who wants to walk .25 miles in the middle of the night to use the outhouse) I would give it more stars.
