Customer Reviews
Great campground. The owners are awesome and they will come around and talk with you. The campground is always highly maintained and kept clean. We love spending time up here!
Our family loves this campground. We have stayed here several times for short trips over the past 3 years. This year we were greeted by new owners. They are very friendly, helpful, and excited about the renovations they have already done and their future plans for the campground. Each time we go we are met by seasonals that are also friendly. The sites are spacious with water and electric on most sites and just water on some. You are surrounded by trees and nature. We love that because you don't have the parking lot feel like other campgrounds and we prefer the rustic feel with the accommodations of still having water and electric. My kids love being able to ride their orvs, it is close to the orv trails, the lake front has one of those long dream docks that you just have to run and jump off with a ladder on the side to climb back up, there is also a raft and water trampoline to play on, they have kayaks, row boats, and a paddle boat that you can use. You just need to ask for the paddles and life jackets. They have a bathhouse/bathroom that has 2 private restrooms (one on each side), several Porta-John's through out the campground that are cleaned regularly (we have a camper so we have not used the Porta John's, but never smell them when we walk past them even when it is hot). It is only a couple minute drive to downtown Baldwin so there are a few stores to pick up forgotten supplies and a some restaurants if you don't feel like cooking. We are kayakers so we also love that it is a couple minutes to the Pere Marquette, about 25-30 mins to different access points on the Pine River, and about 40 mins to access the Manistee river at the Hodenply dam and 30 minutes from our take out spot at Red Bridge. We look forward to future trips and seeing the improvements that the new owners are making.
The new owners are great! Very kind and accommodating. They sell campfire wood at a better value than any roadside bundled firewood seller. The campground is ATV friendly with trails and a scramble area on the grounds and Lincoln Hills trailhead just a few miles down on dirt roads and Tin Cup a little farther, but very manageable, maybe 20 minutes away by ATV on mostly dirt roads. Be a good camper and you can have a fire late into the night. I can't wait to see how they improve the place in the coming years. Lots of potential and they have a nice vision.
New owners are fantastic and very accommodating! Place has great location, and it's very close to local drop-ins for kayaking. Also has access to the trail system for off roading and a little trail system of it's own. Lake is very clean and the campsites are spacious. They also sell firewood here at a reasonable price. We had no trouble with anything other than mosquitos, but bug spray took care of that. Lol Can't wait til we are able to come back. Sounds like the owners have great plans for the place and next time we definitely want to bring our SXS and check out the trails!
Went camping for the 4th . New owners are nice and seem to be working hard on renovating the place. Upon arrival I was informed of fireworks over the lake , nice show with beachfront view . Lake is clean and nice to swim and fish. Everyone seemed nice in the campground. Very orv and pet friendly . Definitely will go camping there again .
