For Ohio-based Airstream owners, or those simply passing through with an appreciation for this iconic brand, the Airstream Factory Terraport in Jackson Center offers a uniquely convenient and specialized camping experience. This isn't your typical recreational campground designed for lengthy vacations, but rather a dedicated facility specifically catering to Airstream owners visiting the "Mothership" – the Airstream factory and service center. The Terraport provides a pragmatic solution for owners seeking factory-level service, offering full hookup sites directly adjacent to the service bays. While Jackson Center itself is a small town with limited tourist attractions, the primary draw of the Terraport is its unparalleled convenience for Airstream owners. It allows you to stay close to your rig during service appointments, or provides a comfortable overnight stop before or after a factory tour. Jackson Center is a small village situated in Shelby County, Ohio. It is easily accessible via major state routes, making the drive relatively straightforward for RVs of all sizes. For instance, it's a short drive from I-75, a major north-south interstate in Ohio, positioning it as a convenient stop for those traveling across the state. While the town itself is small, it provides basic amenities. Nearby Wapakoneta, Ohio (approximately 20 minutes north), offers more in terms of restaurants, grocery stores, and attractions like the Neil Armstrong Air & Space Museum. The Terraport is designed for easy "back-in" access to its sites, catering to the specific needs of RVers. Visitors should be aware that while check-in during weekday office hours is smooth, after-hours or weekend arrivals operate on a first-come, first-served basis with no immediate staff assistance. For those using the Terraport during colder months, be prepared for potential ice and snow, as travel conditions can be treacherous. Overall, its direct adjacency to the Airstream facility is its primary accessibility advantage, simplifying logistics for owners.

The Airstream Factory Terraport is a convenient campground if you are having your Airstream serviced or visiting the factory. The terraport comprises of three circular camping sections each with eight full hook up back in sites. The area is directly behind the Airstream factory service center. You will have no issues if you check in on a weekday during office hours. If you do check in on a weekend or after hours, there is no one to assist you and the sites are first come first serve. Most of the Airstreams in the terraport are there for service and do not have to pay the fee of $20 a night. If you are there for service, be prepared on your date for service the team will be out at 7 AM with a forklift to bring your camper into the shop for review. Upon check in, you will be given a number to attach to your upper jack post so the service tech will know which unit is yours. You are given the option to camp while they’re working on your trailer, and they will bring it back to you at the end of the day so you can camp in it overnight. I don’t advise that, as it takes away critical time for your technician to work on your coach. Find a Airbnb or hotel. There is not much to do in Jackson Center. Nearby Wapakoneta, Ohio offers some nice restaurants and places to stay. Overall, it’s a convenient place to camp while your trailer is being serviced or you are visiting the Airstream headquarters. Be aware, there is zero security or cameras on the property. According to Airstream, they have never had an issue. Oh yes, if you are leaving it, do not put a hitch lock on your trailer. They cannot get it back to the service bays. You just gotta have faith. lol. If you use the terraport in the cold winter months, you will experience ice and snow and treacherous travel. You will also notice that there are hundreds of Airstreams that have been dropped on the facility grounds for service throughout the colder months. You can generally get a service date in January February, but you are up against the weather and difficult travel. Frankly, I cannot imagine camping in Jackson Center for any other reason than service or a plant tour. As for the service center. The service is efficient, the work is done right and you get to meet your technician who works on your coach. You will pay some of the highest shop labor hours that you’ve ever experienced. For a lot of Airstream owners the Airstream factory service center is our only option. As we have zero confidence in the dealer/service that we purchased our camper from. Recommended.
We came with our 2025 Globetrotter 30RB for warranty service. We have been RVing since 2002, full time since 2008, and we know that new RVs have newness issues that need to be addressed. The service center has a small RV park for those who want to stay onsite during service. The team at Airstream Service were awesome. Our service advisor was Josh Aldrich and our main technician was Sean. He had assistance from Derek. Everyone was so helpful through the entire process. All our issues were addressed and we're now off to new adventures. People need to realize that an RV will need attention after it leaves the factory. It takes a little bit to get all the bugs worked out, no matter who the manufacturer is. We have had six RVs and the new ones all required some attention to finalize everything.
Full hookup right next to the service center, and if you are getting service done, it's free. Don't expect camping. It's perfect for a Basecamp while exploring the area.
Great place to spend the night for service. Service center will pick up and deliver back your rig! Nice extra perk!
Simple spots to stay while they work on your airstream.
