Came here to have a place to stop between our destinations this RV trip and the reviews are spot on. The owners are great to interact with, the location was very well planned out for RVs and cabins. There are interesting campsites here too. Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy what they have built but will certainly come back when in the area again.
What A lovely place to stay it’s secluded up In the hills above San Antonio. There’s quick access to so many things to do in San Antonio and stay in San Antonio. Al’s Hideway is uniquely small as it only has 10 pull through slots and 10 cabins. Jennifer and Gordon are very friendly and very helpful, they have a small store which has the necessities including Al’s Beard grooming, products. (Gordon has an amazing beard) As well as a few necessary things. Jennifer has a small kitchen where she serves many of the locals with hamburgers and breakfast foods. We would definitely go back there again if we’re in the area.
My friends (3 couples) stayed for 2 nights and we had an amazing experience! Al & Jennifer were the best hosts!! They were very accommodating and had great communication! They even have a cute convenience store to buy any forgotten items. The property was so well taken care of and was perfect for our getaway! We spent the afternoon walking around the property and exploring the beautiful site. We spent both our nights at their community Pavillon eating, playing games, listening to music and enjoying each other’s company! We also went into Pipecreek (about 5 min from Camp) for a night to enjoy a cute Wine Bar- Monte Alteza with live music and food! The next morning we drove into Boerne (about 20 min away) to get some groceries and had a nice lunch at Cypress Grill. We cooked Saturday night on the easy to use Blackstone and they even had fridges to store our drinks!! Definitely can’t say enough of the great experience we had!! We will be back soon and highly recommend to stay at this beautiful camp!!
My wife and I and our two dogs went the week of Christmas (2024) and really enjoyed it. Al’s Hideaway is close to Bandera and Boerne (NW of San Antonio) and Kerrville and Fredericksburg (to the North) is easily accessible. Gordon and Jennifer (the owners) are super friendly. We stayed in “Memaw’s Cabin” as it has a fully fenced yard so our dogs could play and not have to stay on the leash when outside. I hiked the property (as encouraged by Jennifer) daily while there and they’ve done a great job creating an atmosphere of Hill Country relaxation. Perfect blend of Rustic Cowboy RV Park / Campground and good amenities. There is WiFi. Direct TV enabled tv’s in the cabin (we stayed in). The pavilion is nice with plenty of tables and chairs to play games or watch tv to get out of the cabin, and a pool table and bar. They’ve also got a nice little pool which we didn’t use as it was cold. I love the Texas Hill Country so depending on where I need to go when we go back to the area, we might stay there again, if convenient.
