Customer Reviews
I've been to retreats here for many years now. The facilities, service and food are all great. The employees seem to really care about your experience there. I would highly recommend it for almost any group meeting.
I recently chaperoned a field trip to 4H camp with my twin daughters Feb 24-26th 2025… Every thing was nice… My girls really enjoyed all the activities and the food was sooo good each meal…. Our TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE came on the final day of our trip when we were scheduled to go canoeing at 9:00am on our departure day… Myself and my two 9 year old daughters decided to go canoeing together and Thank God we wore our life jackets because shortly after we were released from the deck we were pattling great and as we were taught when suddenly our canoe flipped over and my self and my two daughters were in the freezing cold waters of Lay Lake….. We did panic initially then I calmed down and got my girls to relax but the amount of time we stayed in that freezing cold water before any of the 4H staff assisted us was 15-20 mins…. My girls were crying I was screaming for Help and it’s like we were being ignored…. I was sooo upset after we finally got out the water that they had us stuck out there for soo long…. I could feel my body temp dropping and was really worried about my 9 year old daughters literally crying for help and they were just wayyyyyyy to slow to respond…. Then afterwards none of the staff assisted us with towels… A dry place with heat to warm up… They did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!! I am a nurse and had sense enough to help my girls into dry clothes and put them in my car with the heat on to help regulate their body temperatures…… We were suppose to have lunch at 1100am after that excursion but I was so disappointed in everyone at the facility that I just loaded my daughters up and we left early. I feel like I should be calling around for a attorney because that wasn’t right at all…TOTAL DISGRACE!!!!Do better 4H for situations such as this…. Aniyah was our group leader she finally came to the rescue….. BARELY
A 5 star resort feel. Well staffed, CLEAN, peaceful, quiet and relaxing place to visit and even stay the night at the lodge. We look visiting this jem. If your looking to get away from the noise, this should be your first choice. Grounds are very well maintained and facilities are top rate.
This is a beautiful and peaceful place. The staff is kind. I hope to visit again soon.
Just got home from a school sponsored field trip with my 6th grade boy. The kids had a blast. Rain didnt stop our fun activities. The staff was so nice and very knowledgeable. The food was good and the kitchen staff went out of their way for a very picky eater. Highly recommend this place. Even thinking about doing summer camp this year.
