Customer Reviews
This is one of the best places I've ever had the pleasure to camp. There are no facilities and the drive in is extremely rough. I imagine this keeps a lot of the less desirable people from visiting Alder Creek Camp. The creek is awesome by the way. My pup had a great time playing in it and it's deep enough to bathe. Bring water or a way to treat it and please carry out all of your waste/trash.
Great little place if you dare to venture back this far. The roads up to this place are pretty rough. Not your average camp site. This time of year, it had some good amount of water running through the creek. It was pretty green with trees and grass. Doesn't look like the forest service comes back very often to do maintenance, since a tree had fallen a while ago it seems, taking out a fire pit and picknick table. I would recommend this place if you are up for an adventure, and are able to handle the rough rough road.
Road ends shortly after this campsite pin. Moderately buggy since it’s at the bottom near the creek. Two campsites with fire pits available, very little-no hiking aside from rough drive-in trail. Nice picnic benches at the campsite and a cool mine shaft to walk by and look at for a min. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ nice and FREE!
Three sites wooded with oaks & fir trees next to a seasonal creek. Each site has a large picnic table and a steel fire ring. No drinking water, no toilets, no fees for camping or day use. Camp fires are banned seasonally. The forest, creekside, and everything outside of the area cleared for camping is coated in poison oak. Had the place to ourselves when we camped here on a weekend in late September. Made it in a Prius but I would not recommend it. We barely made it out. The first 6 miles of dirt road up from hwy 1 wind up steeply and were well maintained. The last 2 miles down from the Will Creek Rd & Los Burros Rd intersection had steep rutted sections with loose rocks. The creek was dry. There weren't many mosquitos thou there were a lot of small black flies in the afternoon.
Nice secluded primitive campground, roads had some deep ruts, need 4wd. I had the whole campground to myself. There is a hiking trail that passes through.
