We absolutely loved this campground! We got one of the 'walk-in' campsites, where you park and walk down a trail to your campsite. The walk was not far at all and totally worth it because our site as well as the others around us were pretty secluded and very spacious! Our site had a very lovely view of the river and we could see it while we warmed by the fire. I believe it was the Metolius River, which comes from the Cascade Mountains and was too cold to swim in. Our Labrador had a great time splashing around on the river bank, and thoroughly enjoyed how spacious our campsite was. A lot of people were out kayaking and fly fishing (the only fishing allowed in this area). A few people walked past on the trail the leads to the fish hatchery, but otherwise it was really private. There were also NO BUGS out here! The campground was very clean and well taken care of, including the vault bathrooms, and the camp host kept to themselves. There's also a very cute country store up the road a bit. Important note: There's no cell service out here. We will definitely be back!!

This is a very nice little campground. It is small, offers no potable or running water, and the spots are very large and well spaced from each other. The trees and river are what makes this spot so enjoyable.

We stumbled upon Allen springs campground after running away from the swarm of yellow jackets at suttle lake campground. Matthew the camp host and his dog Mija were the best! We were able to snag a campsite right by the river! It was beautiful, peaceful just what we were looking for. Mathew was knowledgeable on want to do around the area and he kept the place in tip Top shape! Will be booking this campground again in the future
