Allentown KOA Journey Introduce
Allentown KOA Journey, located at 6750 KOA Dr, New Tripoli, PA 18066, offers local users a picturesque camping experience within the well-regarded Campgrounds & RV Parks category. Situated a little outside of town, the journey to the campground takes you through windy, hilly roads, but it is manageable even for larger vehicles like a 43 ft Fifth Wheel.
This campground is noted for its beautiful environment, featuring large trees that provide ample shade and a pleasant atmosphere. A notable feature is a small river that runs through the campground, enhancing its natural appeal and providing a source of enjoyment for visitors, such as children throwing rocks in the water.
The staff at Allentown KOA Journey are described as helpful, ensuring a smooth and comfortable stay for guests. The campground offers long pull-through sites, which are particularly convenient for larger RVs. For those traveling with friends or family, the pull-through sites in the middle of the campground face each other, making it an ideal setup for group camping.
While the restrooms are mentioned to be on the smaller side, guests with campers often find it easier to utilize their own facilities. The campground's location offers a "Pocono vibes" feel without the extended drive, making it a convenient local escape. Additionally, its proximity to the Lehigh Zoo and beautiful surrounding areas, which are great for scenic drives and hiking, adds to its appeal.

Beautiful park with large trees. A little bit out of town on some windy, hilly roads to get there, but we did fine in our 43 ft Fifth Wheel. Long pull through site was perfect for us. Helpful staff.
We just returned from a short weekend trip and had an amazing stay. What a great smaller sized campground! Pocono vibes without the extra driving. It has a little River running through the campground which adds to the overal feel. The kids enjoyed throwing rocks in. The restrooms are a bit smaller so be prepared to use your camper if you have a shower. It was just easier. It’s also located really close to the Lehigh Zoo. The drive in and out of the zoo was very scenic. Beautiful surrounding area. Great hiking as well. We would definitely return. If you have friends that enjoy camping you could book together. The pull through sites in the middle face each other and would be great to go with friends/family.
We had another beautiful relaxing stay at this KOA. Everyone is so cheerful and friendly. Very well kept and organized. We love this place and we'll be back. Crossing our fingers one day we'll have a seasonal spot to call our permanent vacation home.
A fantastic campground. Very clean but dated (not necessarily a bad thing). The staff were extremely friendly, approachable, and helpful. Location was decent and easy to get to. We didn’t partake in any activities but certainly saw lots doing so and having fun. My only issue was the size of the sites. My site in particular (site 1) was barely long enough to accommodate my truck and 20’ trailer. Anyone with a longer rig should request the longest site available.
Great staff in a beautiful location. We camped there 3yrs ago in a tent, last year a few times in a camper and this year almost every other weekend. We love it here so much the next year we have a long term site. I recommend this koa to everyone!!
Stopped back again after the rain and camped down in the lower area. Cute place, we were a little concerned about whether the river would breach. Luckily it didn't. The ground was thoroughly waterlogged though. Nice campground, quiet. We were just passing through, only stayed one night. Services all worked, people were friendly.
Very interesting place. Overall experience was good, staff was friendly and helpful. Bathroom was spacious and full shower amenities. Full store with a game room. We visited April 2025. Our site 63 was big enough for 32 foot trailer. Full hook up available. Easy in and out pull thru site. The interesting part is that this site was a buddy site. We were 30 feet away from another trailer , facing each other and personal space was not honored. The neighbors were nice, but had people walking through our site, taking over a table we had to get back. I then realized most pull thru if not all sites were buddy sites. Campers facing each other close enough to make it weird. We didn't have a space to stretch out in chairs to enjoy a fire because of the closeness. I think I saw a few sites with a bit more privacy which I will look into if we stay again. Dog friendly with a nice little gated area for dogs. We would try another visit. Local bar- leather outpost?- Had good food, drinks and dog friendly. Retriever brewery was good too.
Great time tent camping. Sites were large and along the creek which the kids loved. They have a small store and game room which was nice to cool off and occupy some free time. Pool is basic but efficient. Laundry available. There are only two sets of bathrooms which for our trip was fine but the campground was pretty empty. If full I believe that would have made shower time difficult. Short drive to Dorney park which was our trip.
