We have been visiting Alpen Rose RV park for years now and have had wonderful experiences. After all those years I think I have had enough time and experience to decide to write the review Alpen Rose deserves; it was about time! From setting up our reservation to friendly employees (Thanks Lindsay and Judy)! The park is well maintained and clean including bathrooms and showers! CJ greeted us upon arrival with enthusiasm and caring asking the right questions to ensure we had a great stay. Our designated spot was a little too small this last visit so they simply and without question moved us to a pull through which worked perfectly! We will continue to make Alpen Rose our "go to" for camping in the Durango area.

Alpen Rose was amazing!! My mom and I stayed there for 14 days in August. We had site 52 in my 21 ft travel trailer. When we arrived the service was fast and so helpful! I’m decent at backing in a trailer but the worker who guided me in was so kind and helpful! The whole time we were there we had phenomenal service. The guys have golf carts and they’re constantly driving around working and willing to help you with anything you need. The sites are full hook ups, there are clean showers, a laundry room, a 2 acre dog park, trash, propane and even a cafe! We were only 15 min away from downtown Durango, and the Million Dollar Highway is literally right down the road. There is so much to do there and so many things in driving distance. This place was incredible and we loved our time there.

CJ and Lindsay were fantastic hosts. They went above and beyond to help us when we arrived late and gave us advice for our first time at an RV park. The other long-term campers were kind and welcoming as well.

Really not great overall. The RV spaces are very close together and the staff, while nice enough, does not enforce any of their own rules with guests or on-site staff. The number of people speeding throughout the park, dogs left unattended outside, and large dogs off-leash around the park (not in the dog park) was ridiculous to the point of being almost comical. But it’s not funny when you have a dog who’s afraid of other dogs: it’s awful. No real redeeming factors for this place when there are better options around Durango.

Stayed there this weekend and was extremely impressed with the customer service and attentiveness of the staff. Harry is awesome and extremely helpful! I loved the park and the amenities for the most part. One of the things I was looking forward to was the cafe. I didn’t pack any coffee because I thought I’d be able to get a cup every morning. As I recall, the cafe was suppose to be open until the end of Oct, but was not available during our stay. The other thing that bothered me is partially my fault, but bugs me a little. I booked a spot for a 30 amp, which I thought I had, but it turned out that I have a 50 amp. They were quick to let me change spaces and made it very easy. Harry told me he would come help me and guide me into the new space. A handful of other new guests arrived and Harry got busy. I had my wife and son with me, so I did take it upon myself to move to the new space with the help of the family to back me in. However, the camper in front of me had a portable satellite on a small stand that I couldn’t see over my hood. I bumped it and knocked it off the stand. I felt so terrible!!! Turns out to be an employee and supposedly someone knocks it over at least once a year. If I had another day to spend there, I would have gone to the hardware store and bought an orange flag and some wire to put a marker up, but my stay was so short. Again, my fault and I felt really badly!!! I wish that employee would put up a marker so others don’t continue to do this and feel so terrible about it!
