My family and I have spent many summers at alpine lake & up until last month I would never have imagined I would leave a negative review about our experience but here we are. I will premise this review with I assume The park has probably never dealt with a situation like this in the past judging from the way they handled it. My daughter and I walked down to the showers to do just that. Shower. I walked in; checked every single stall, to the point that my daughter asked why I was doing that. I explained you never know who and if someone is supposed to be somewhere they aren’t supposed to be. She goes in first to shower, I stand out watching the door. We switch; and she does the same. I’m finishing up and my 6 year old daughter mind you.. says a man just walked in. I immediately hurried and covered myself. Now it’s about 30 seconds I’m rushing to put shorts on & then sex sounds, moaning and cursing from behind the shower stall he walked into. I stood frozen for a minute but decided to not stay silent and subject myself and my daughter to that trauma. I screamed that I was with a child and to leave. I chased him out of the bathroom where he was met by a couple who held him until I could get to my husband and call the police. Here’s where I want to acknowledge somethings that just don’t sit with me. 1. This person was not 21 drunk and not a seasonal guest but a guest of one. He was given the pass to stay overnight because he “was drunk” 2. Took 38 minutes for police to come, I pray nothing more sinister never happens there with 2 lakes and 2 pools because Warrens county is far and wide. 3. The showers and laundry room had a sign claiming it was under video surveillance & when my husband asked about it we were told they were in fact not on. 4. I’ve seen multiple people rave about Justin the activity director; he might be great at running the games but he was completely unprofessional that night and honestly 1/2 the reason we won’t ever come back. 5. We were told the seasonal member who this creep was with were being removed from the park and lost their seasonal site over this which sucks for them but live and learn who you have around your circle. I went back and forth about making this review but after hearing my 6 year old ask if there was a bad man in this bathroom too at the fair last week was a reminder that it’s not about me it’s about someone else. I’m 37. A strong female raised by a Sargent in the police force. I wasn’t gonna stand there and listen to that and absorb that trauma a single second longer but I truly feel in my bones that a young girl or someone without the foresight to check their surroundings would have been paralyzed in fear & stood there. The police ultimately did nothing. Slapped him on the wrist. We requested the report from warrens county and will be going forward with a complaint there too.

Honest review our our stay: This is a large campground that is in close proximity to Saratoga as well as Lake George. We rented an RV site for 5 nights. We had a pull through, which was nice, across from Goose Bay. There were a row of cabins in front of us but we could still see the lake from our site in between the cabins. The kids enjoyed fishing in the pond/lakes every day. The site was tight but my husband had no issue getting our 31ft travel trailer in and out of it. The sites are pretty close together, not a lot of privacy and not a lot of extra area to park. The seasonal campers rely on their golf carts to get around and they also rent out golf carts for around $100 per day. We didn't rent one, we drove to the pool the couple of times we went with the kids. We had a bathroom house next to our site and we did use it a couple of times. It was run down looking and dirty, the toilets did not flush reliably and there was no paper towels in the dispenser any of the days we were there. The staff in the office was always pleasant. The pool area has 2 pools, one that is zero depth to 3ft and the other had a deep end of 5 ft. The signs are posted for no glass bottles or diving, nobody enforces any of those rules. A child was eating a cheeseburger in the pool one of the times we were there. Quiet hours start at 11..... Nobody follows that either it seemed while we were there. Our neighbors partied it up until 2 ish one night, which I have no issue with, except that they were yelling and screaming and driving their golf carts back and forth. Many dogs around us barking as well. We stayed Thursday to Tuesday and it did quiet down significantly by Sunday evening. We didn't make it to the activities but our kids saw the juggler that was entertaining the campers and they said he was great. We chose this campground based on the proximity to the areas we wanted to visit and the reviews we read. We made great memories at the Saratoga Spa State Park, Race Track and Lake George, so we don't regret our trip at all, we just wouldn't stay there again.

This is our second aeason at Alpine Lake. This resort is beautiful and kept clean. From the time you enter the resort, the staff are helpful and always available. We have lakes, pools, fishing and even a restaurant. Justin, the activities director, surely does an exceptional job every week with both children and adult activities. He always has a smile on his face and works hard to make every activity fun. Alpine Lake is our home away from home.

Ok this was a horrible stay. We are Thousand Trail members and expect a decent spot. This campsite (#10)was terrible. It’s more suited for a tent than an rv. We apparently got the bottom of the bucket in rv spots, the spot that no one else wants apparently. If they try to put you in spot #10 don’t even go to look at it, just tell them no thanks and make them give you another spot. It’s near impossible to get into this spot without hitting a tree. You can of course run over their cement patio in the spot if you have to, and you WILL have to in order to get in and avoid trees. You must back into this spot and which leaves the hook ups on the wrong side of the rv. We had to run our electrical and water hose under the rig to the opposite side. Don’t even attempt that with the dump hose! If you even try to pull in going forward you better have super long power and drinking hose connections because they are at the front of the spot, not the back where they should be. The lady in the office looked very surprised when we told her that we were able to get our rv into this spot. Almost as if no one has been able to do so before today. We also told them we needed 50 amp service and they gave us a spot with only 30 amp service. Good thing I had the appropriate connectors because they wouldn’t have had any to lend us. This place is huge and way too crowded. There is a mixture of old and new rigs (many look like they’ve been here unmaintained for years. Most of the rigs here tend to be trailers, we only saw a few motorhomes. Probably because the spots in here are so tight and have little room for maneuvering to get motorhomes in and out. We stayed once, won’t stay again. The only thing that was decent was the taco bowl at the restaurant.
