The sites are spacious and well kept. There is a private beach area just for the campers. The campground trails are very nice, giving you views of the forest and the lake. All around nice place to camp.
This park was very clean and the grounds were exceptionally manicured, most spots private lots of trees and spaces in-between each site. We stayed in the B 37 nice private space on the water but traffic noise from major road and sirens this loop sits rite next to a major road.the downfall was so much algae bloom that we couldn't access the water drive up to the north part of the campsite K And L Loop and algae bloom was in fool affect so we drove down the road and found a nice spot to put in kayaks. The staff were so very nice and helpful thank you for all your kindness .
Convenient location with good amenities. I will admit, we only stayed one night passing through. Did not have time to explore the entire park and campground. My rating is for the campground Sites at L loop, which were small. We traveled in our 32’ trailer. The only site with a water view is L17, but they are all labeled as “premium water view” sites. Same for K loop, only noticed one site with actual water view. Overall, park was clean and comfortable. Beware, lots of road noise most day and night. Everyone was friendly and quiet. I see great pictures and sites within this campground and nice lake access, so would consider staying again at another spot.
Very nice and clean campground. Our site was level and shady. Might be a little muddy if it had rained. Great lake to Kayak on
We had a great time. Fun activities such as putt putt, nature center, fishing, trails, playgrounds, water/sand, volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, and more. Decent camp site. We have stayed so far in A, F, G, and R sections. F, and G are closer to trails and water. A is closer to park activities, store, and nature center. R is further out; however, we really enjoyed the site as well. We walked all the way to the other half of the campground which made for an adventurous experience for a 5yr old.
I like to go hammock camping so I was a little disappointed that sites did not have the right type of tree spacing or trees at all a lot of rush at least where I was in site K17 and that area. There was a convenient little walk from the site and view of the creek. I was close to a path that people were walking through, which I guess was convenient to get to activities. Lots of poison ivy. The staff at the welcome center was very nice and informative. ODNR really needs to step up their game as far as maps for the sites and the parks in general. So much amazing technology out there and they are taking use of none of it when it comes to providing information for the parks and the campgrounds specifically.
Kentucky Derby weekend first camping trip of 2025. Yes it had to be raining because it’s our first camping trip of the year! Still fun had a blast.
