You, your camper and the mountains…. Great place just to sit and be within nature. The campground is very steep to get to so be prepared. I love that we were within the park so we were able to see the Falls and hike without having to go far. It gets pitch black at night. There is a laundry room that’s very convenient for anyone who needs it, they are pretty clean. Make sure to take enough food as any restaurants are pretty far away from the campground. The host has firewood available for purchase. The playground by the visitors center was nice for our toddler. The views from the falls are worth every step from the bottom. Campsites are very spacious and private from the rest. I’d stay here again without a question. We didn’t see or encounter any wildlife while we were here but there were signs everywhere to be aware.
We recently stayed Amicalola Falls Campground, it was such a wonderful experience. Our Camp Host Fallon, was incredibly helpful. She offered so many great suggestions to seeing all the park had to offer. We were blown away with the beauty of the park and all the amenities it offered. It was impeccably maintained, everything was spotless at the campground and throughout the park. We definitely will be coming back, 3 days just wasn't enough to see all the beauty the park has to offer.
Wow wow, this camp ground is so well kept. Very quite, clean and plenty of space between each site. They offer glamping tents as well. The bathrooms and showers areas were very clean. It's pricier than normal state park camping sites but, every spot has water and electric, grill, fire pit. Will definitely visit again.
This place was amazing! We only came for a day and stayed at the campground but we'll definitely need to come back. The falls are absolutely gorgeous and there's a 400+ step staircase to get to the top. The view from the top is totally worth it though! Once you get there, you'll have access to all the trail entrances. The lodge hotel is beautiful and the food is really good. I was honestly surprised they had good prices too! The campsite was maintained so well and they have everything from glamping tents to full hookup sites to cabins. They also spend time planning activities for the people staying in the area. The night we stayed they had a campfire with the local tribes where you learn about their culture. You can really tell they put so much love in running this place. It was an absolutely amazing time, we'll definitely be back to enjoy all the activities and amenities they offer.
We recently stayed at the Amicalola Falls Campground. After checking in at the lodge we ventured up the mountain to the campgrounds (in low gear). It was quite a climb but once we reached the top it was great. The campgrounds are somewhat open but private enough. The sites were spacious, clean, level (gravel). We had good clean 30 Amp electric power, water, a picnic table, grill, lantern post and fire ring all in a raised fenced in area. We heard there was quite a bit of bear activity in the area but did not see any during our stay. The campground also had newer restroom facility with private showers, a shelter house and a small playground. There were plenty of bear proof trash containers as well. We had a great stay and highly recommend.
