Somewhat challenging to reach the falls via the paved path and stairs but there's plenty of spots along the way to rest, going back down much easier of course. You can get quite close to the falls, which cascade for several hundred feet. View from the top is impressive as well. Super nice visitor center, historical displays and souvenirs. Very nice and clean park, $5 parking fee.
Wonderful stunning park! We took an orange trail up to the top which a bit strenuous but not too bad at all. My dog loved it until we got to the metal grated stairs. He was a brave boy and made his way down to the base of the falls which was absolutely gorgeous!
We camped in spot 13 and it was a very nice camping spot. The campground is clean and quiet. The waterfall is beautiful with several good hiking trails. You can hike the waterfall trail or drive to several spots and it’s right off the parking lots. The lodge has good food and great views.
I had a wonderful time at Amicalola Falls State Park! The park is incredibly clean and well-maintained, which made our visit even more enjoyable. The staff and fellow visitors were all friendly, creating such a welcoming atmosphere. There are plenty of bathrooms throughout the park, which is always a huge plus. The hike was beautiful and very pleasant — the views of the falls are breathtaking, and the trail is well-marked and manageable. My dog loved it too! There’s plenty of space for pets to enjoy the outdoors, and he had a blast exploring. It’s a perfect spot for anyone looking to connect with nature, get some fresh air, and enjoy a lovely hike. Highly recommend this park to anyone!
Impressive view as you embark up the 429 flights of stairs. There are plenty of beautiful spots to enjoy and take pictures if you do not wish to go all the way up. It’s good to know you can drive to the top as well. We were SO grateful to have a charging station there, but a little frustrated when both cars taking up the spots were not EV’s. It would be nice if the Welcome center pays more attention to this because it was EXTREMELY difficult to find EV CHARGING stations for our car. Good clean restrooms. You’ll definitely get good exercise!
