The restaurant, nestled in the heart of the Lodge, offers a warm and inviting atmosphere. We visited after the Christmas holidays to admire the beautiful, albeit foggy, mountain views. Despite the chilly weather, the experience was delightful. For lunch, we ordered bowls of hearty chili, which were served hot and bursting with flavor—absolutely delicious. Sitting by the window, we enjoyed the serene view alongside our meal. Thank you for a memorable dining experience!
Wasn't a guest here so I can't rate the accommodations but I saw the cabins and lodge and it all looked top notch. This waterfall was breathtaking. Over 700 ft high and majestic. The trails were well marked and solid. The reflection pool was like looking in a mirror. I like how you can drive up to the water fall and get a great view from the ground or get your cardio in and hike up the stairs. This waterfall is like the east coast version of the famous Multnomah falls in Oregon with the picturesque Bridge at the top. Definitely in my top 3 waterfalls I've ever seen.
Beautiful location with access to waterfall - which was stunning! Loved the cabin which was beside our other family cabins and they have firewood outside for easy access. You can make a fire outside or inside. Our cabin had two fireplaces and a large jetted tub, two bedrooms/bathrooms and nice size kitchen with appliances, plates, etc. Definitely enjoyed our stay!
Went to the lodge restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner while we were in N. Georgia. We made a reservation for 2:30 and arrived at 2pm. We were told to wait in the line to be seated. Turns out that everyone was in this line, those with and without reservations. I was never asked if I had reservation so everyone in line ahead of us got seated. What's the point of a reservation if you can get seated without one. We stood in line for over an hour before we were seated. Not fun when you have a one and a half and three year old. The tables were way too close to each other in order to cram as many people as they could into the dining room. We had to turn some of our chairs sideways to make it work. The food was ok, our server was very nice. The view from the patio was great. Overall, it's just not a very relaxing experience. Would not recommend for a holiday meal. I'm sure it's fine on a normal day.
The new visitor's center is very nice and also includes a small museum. Restrooms are clean and warm (was there in winter). The staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of parking. Wonderful view from the top of the falls.
