Had a great day with our friends that own Rut n Strut @AndersonLake. We camped at the campground and everyone made us feel welcomed
What a gem to find. Traveling across Illinois and not finding any places to camp. We were heading slowly towards Michigan. ..Decided to head up 100 along the river and tada!!. No amenities. ..so consider it rustic although there may be something up by the office. Quiet and really nice spread. And only $8. I kinda don't want to share this and keep it to myself. Another post said awesome sunrise. Campground is on the west side of the water.
Nice big camping and picnic area. It has several boat launches, decent bathrooms (including a handicap access one), a couple of covered pavilions, and picnic benches and fire pits all over.
Just drove through to look at the lake and see if things had changed since the last time I was there. It had been several years ago and since we were in the area we figured why not and went...
