This island is a very beautiful and big island. I camped here for one night and here are some facts/points on the island: 1. The views are amazing. At The Batteries, you can see both the Golden Gate and the Bay Bridge! 2. It may be cold and foggy sometimes. 3. I biked around the island, not too hard. 4. Can be windy sometimes, so if you’re camping, bring stakes and a mallet! 5. Visit the historic places, as they can hold very interesting info and the history of the island. Overall, this is a must-go island!
Cheap ferry ride. Hiking was an awesome experience. Stunning 365 view of San Francisco Bay. Found a geological marker from the army corps from 1950s in excellent condition at the peak.
Less than $20 round trip on the Golden Gate Ferry if you use your Clipper Card. Wonderful views on a clear day, and a couple of different paths to choose with varying difficulty. The Cafe is currently being remodeled, but they have some grab-and-go items.
What a hidden gem! This is a beautiful island with amazing views of nearby places. There is a tram tour that takes you around the whole island and tells you the history of the island. They have a visitors center and other buildings to explore. The best part is you can book a combo tour of this and Alcatraz!
One of the most beautiful places specially for locals!! So you will take a ferry and once you arrive it will take you to a nice, peaceful harbor that has a restaurant. You can eat there and enjoy the San Francisco view!! After you can go for an amazing hike that goes around the island! There is also a local beach that you can even go swimming! Best part no one was there! I highly recommend it.
