If you are a wanderer, you'll already know that there are places that you'll visit along the way that will enchant you for reasons that might not be immediately obvious; there are people you will meet there who will see you, accept you (even if you're riding an adventure motorcycle) and make you feel like you will always belong there. For me, Appalachian Campground was one of those places, made all-the-more so by the hostess who was quick with a smile, quick with a well travelled story, and thick with southern hospitality. Crisp November air, a babbling brook, a crackling fire, and taut hammock lines made for a great night in the mountains: I "belonged" there. You will too!
I love this place its amazing. Laundry on site and 3$ to wash an dry a load isn't bad. Bath house was clean and had nice hot water. Host was friendly and helpful. Cabins are beautiful I stayed in the one with out kitchen and slept like a baby. Prices are great to. But Verizon no service but they offer wifi. I plan on staying again!!! I already stayed 2 different times. Couldn't get enough of the river noise right behind my cabin so relaxing
Thanks for the break week. Stayed in the Hemlock cabin this past week. Really nice place and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. Perfect location between Hiawassee and Helen. The cabin faces the creek and it was great hearing the water rushing by as you sit on the porch. If you are planning to have kids sleep in the loft, I recommend bringing sleeping bags or padding along with bedding to add to their comfort.
Really enjoyed this campground! The creek runs behind every site and there is a huge field to play in which we did with our dog and 3 year old! Also, loved the apple tree! But I think what was most enjoyable was how nice the host, Harry and his wife were! They were great to talk to and made sure every need was met! Definitely will be coming back!
Great weekend camping trip close to home in Buford but far enough to be relaxing! Loved being next to the river listening to the sounds of the water. Great camp host Jeff and Kim!! Very clean bath house. Will definitely be back again!! Ron and Elaine
