Though I'm scared of the Appalachian, I had a wonderful time on July 4th, enjoyed Barbequing and the pool was well needed. Quiet and safe and patrolled.

If I could rate 0 stars I would! I drove two hrs to this place for the 2nd time after the first time was ride & racist people I gave the place the benefit of the doubt to try again and I get there to find out they gave me a cabin with no bathroom when I booked a full cabin with a kitchen due to having a special needs child they don’t give a crap and offered no help at all! I was greeted so nicely being white the minute my two mixed race sons walked in it was an instant change in all! Then the man working here decided he was going to follow me all around in his golf cart like my 3 & 5 yr olds were gonna rob someone or something! Never again and I do NOT RECCOMEND THIS PLACE AT all especially if you want a friendly environment! Bullshit ain’t the word!

We have been tenting at appalachian campground for years, staying in their tenting area. When I called this year to make my reservation they said they only had one site left, an RV site which they charged me $188.00 to put my tent on. When my friends arrived they said there were no sites available, tho there were empty sites and the entire "tenting" area is not being used. We asked to have them put there tent on our site since it was an RV site and big enough to accommodate two tents, they said no! Only one unit per site. So we were like then they will just stay with us in our tent (4 adults) again they said no. Only two people allowed. She asked to speak with the manager who after 20 mins came to the office and took them in a back room and treated them terribly and called them liars after they said they had been coming there for years. They asked for a day pass and were denied that too. There were plenty of open sites and campers with two units on one site and multiple guests to one site after some time a site became "available" and they were able to stay on an RV site with their tent for $168....$ 20 cheaper then my RV site. My other friend got a site for her tent with a family of 5 for $123....prices are all over the place and management is rude. They definitely only cater to RVs and don't want tenters so they charge them for RV sites while not using their tent area which was quite and away from the highway. The highway noise was insane.

Stayed for one night in our RV. When I made a mistake on the booking date, a quick call fixed the issue no problem at no extra cost! And when we arrived after hours, a staff member led us to our spot in a golf cart with lights. The hookups worked great, the bathrooms were plentiful and clean, and checkout was easy!

Beautiful wooded campground with numerous amenities. Unfortunately, as a thousand trails member, I was assigned the absolute worst site! Be aware. The road noise from I-78 was unbearably loud. Called to request a change in site location, but was not accommodated by the campground nor thousand trails. Very disappointing stay. Campsite 17 also flooded when it rained. Numerous sites were available throughout my stay. I would definitely avoid this location as a TT member.
