Arbor Lights Resort Introduce

Arbor Lights Resort, located in Monticello, Indiana, USA, provides lodging services with significantly mixed reviews. As part of the Campgrounds & RV Parks category, which includes various lodging options, this resort offers accommodation near Indiana Beach, but has received feedback highlighting both positive and negative experiences.

Arbor Lights Resort offers the following features and services:

  • Proximity to Indiana Beach: The resort is located right next to Indiana Beach amusement park.
  • Boat Docking: Guests can bring their boats and dock at the resort.
  • Pool: The resort features a pool.
  • Helpful Owners (Sometimes): Some guests found the owners helpful, particularly with boating advice.
  • Studio Rooms: The resort offers studio rooms with pull-out couches.

However, it is important to be aware of the following potential challenges:

  • Numerous Cats and Unclean Conditions: Guests have reported numerous cats and dishes of food all over the property, indicating unclean conditions.
  • Poorly Maintained Cottages: The cottages, particularly the 3-bedroom cottage, are described as dumps and converted garages, charging high prices for poor quality.
  • Septic Issues: Guests have reported septic tank issues, including overflowing toilets, and have been advised to be careful with toilet paper.
  • Intrusive Owners: Guests have experienced intrusive owners who are always in their business and watching their movements.
  • Dated Pictures and Misleading Information: The pictures of the resort are dated, and the information about direct access to Indiana Beach is misleading, as there is a chain link fence preventing direct access.
  • Poor Pillow Quality: Guests have recommended bringing their own pillows, as the ones provided are not of good quality.
  • Noise Issues: Guests have reported noise issues.

Guests have highlighted the proximity to Indiana Beach and boat docking as positive aspects of Arbor Lights Resort. The pool and studio rooms have also been appreciated by some guests. However, the numerous cats, unclean conditions, septic issues, and intrusive owners are significant concerns. The dated pictures and misleading information, along with poor pillow quality and noise issues, may also impact the guest experience. The overall experience appears to be highly variable, with significant negative feedback.

Arbor Lights Resort is suitable for travelers primarily interested in its proximity to Indiana Beach and boat docking. However, potential guests should be prepared for potential unclean conditions, septic issues, intrusive owners, and dated accommodations. It is recommended to carefully consider the negative reviews before booking and to bring their own pillows. Guests should also verify the current condition of the property and its amenities before confirming their stay.

i am so sorry i did not read the previous review. ABSOLUTELY on the mark. there are cats and dishes of food all over. the 3 bedroom cottage is a dump, converted garage for $180.00 per night. the toilet was ready to overflow- we were told by the owner Mary that the septic tank had not been cleaned and to be careful with the toilet paper. she also yelled at us to keep the door closed and windows if we had the air in. very noisy and intrusive owners always in your business. always watching you coming and going. did not leave anything valuable in the so called cottage, worried it would get ripped off. states that she is the last resort before you get into the amusement park..you just walk in fails to tell you there is a chain link fence to prevent this. PICTURES ARE DATED !!!

Nice place to stay! If your into fishing you can fish right there a few steps from your room. They have wake zone boat docks for your boat or to fish from. Nice pool to swim in or you can swim in the lake. Walking distance from the Park!! Mary and John are very nice I would recommend staying there! Looking forward to going again!

Please do not stay here!! We cut our 4 night trip to one night!! Our cabin smelled like cat piss first off!! There were at least 5 cats roaming around. The toilet seat was broke. When my 13 year old daughter went to take a shower the hot water knob fell off in her hand! They tried to fix it but claimed they couldn’t get the part, that they had to drive to Lafayette to get it. Their solution was for us to take showers in a unit across the resort. When my 76 year old mother went to take a shower in that unit there was no water. They claimed they were working on another unit and shut off the water but didn’t tell us! She got angry and told “ John” the male owner it was the worst place she has ever stayed. The water was a trickle, etc! He told his wife “ Mary”. She came at us very unprofessionally and angry.. saying they worked their “tails” off getting ready for us. We should leave in the morning. After telling me her husband was “lazy” on the phone making the arrangements, she defended him saying how hard he works. She had earlier told us to check out other units, then yelled at us that we didn’t, like we would ever stay there again! We had a mulberry tree dropping mulberries in front of our unit, and were instructed to sweep them which we did! But apparently we weren’t sweeping them enough because Mary came while my mom was reading outside. She swept them and left another broom, and hinted we need to sweep them more. We only got half back of a four night stay even though we were their one night!! It was awful. We are not snobby people. We stay at old fishing resorts all the time. These people ruined our vacation, our family time, our time off of work. Oh and amazingly after my mom told “John” off, the shower knob got fixed...too late..we were out of there! Oh and then she claimed she gave me a 30% discount as she was yelling at us... the daily rate is $155 according to their website, we paid 137.50 a night!! That is not a 30% discount!! Plus we paid for 4 nights, stayed one night, got reimbursed for 2 nights!! Rip off! These people are crazy to deal with!

My brother stayed at another resort, but moved to Arbor Lights for the weekend. He loves it there! Nice pool, beautiful, unobstructed view. The rooms have a lot of space. Not to mention, the owners are absolutely wonderful people!
