I recently stayed at this campsite, and while the location itself was decent, the experience was completely overshadowed by the behavior of the staff. From the moment I arrived, it became clear that their priorities were entirely misplaced. Instead of addressing genuinely dangerous activities—such as people bringing in glass bottles or recklessly speeding in side-by-sides—they chose to single me out over something as minor as riding a quad. What’s worse, I was unfairly targeted for alleged issues while others engaged in far riskier behavior without consequence. I was followed for the rest of the day, constantly scrutinized, while those breaking the rules and putting others in harm’s way were ignored. To make matters worse, they didn’t even allow me to wash my four-wheeler, further showing how I was being unfairly treated. The situation escalated when a second staff member showed up. I informed him that I had everything on camera, but when he asked me to show him the video, he immediately dismissed it without even reviewing the evidence. It was clear to me that they had no interest in resolving the issue fairly, and the entire experience left me feeling deeply discriminated against. To add insult to injury, the staff approached my family and demanded we leave the premises without just cause. I have video evidence to back up my claims and will be sharing it publicly to shed light on how poorly managed and discriminatory this campsite truly is. No one should have to endure such unfair treatment while real issues go ignored. He mentioned how i got him dirty like dude grow up you work outside with 4 wheelers mud slinging everywhere if u don't wanna get dirty get an office job this ain't the job for you
I came here about 17 years ago and had the best time primitive camping. Came this weekend with a camper and while I had a great time it isn't what I remembered. They charge way too much money for what you get, my camping weekend cost close to $1000 between campsite, extra pp fee and golf cart rental (while fun to have, $400 isn't worth it) I didn't book so I wasn't aware of all the extra fees. It's a shame because I'd love to make this place my "home camp," but I just can't afford it, sadly.
I have been going to this camp ground for 32 years. Loved the place, but last week we spent 6 days there and was very disappointed. I don't mind the 4 wheelers and the other vehicles, but some of them were very rude. 10pm is quite time! We did go up front and complained. Didn't matter. People did what ever they wanted till well after midnight and trucks doing donuts on the beach at 3:15am. Not a happy camper this visit. Not sure we will be back.
Peace River Campground is an amazing place. We love the residence and the atmosphere here every time we come. We have spent about 16 days here in the last month and I only have 1 bad experience. I went to the front office this morning to renew my truck for the day as this would be my last day here. While there, Sherri, was extremely rude from the start. She started berating me on how many days I have been there, why I had so many sign in tags and where my wristband was. I explained to here that while my friends and family have been there for 7 days, I have not as I still had to work. So my attendance was sporadic. I explained I only needed to renew my truck but I would be packing up and leaving within the next hour. She still made me pay for the entire day. I also explained to her that while I do have a four wheeler, I will only be driving it to load it into the truck (about 3 minutes) and then it will be done. She told me I had to get a wrist band if I'm going to ride it at all. I told her I would not be paying to load the four-wheeler. She then got loud and said I better not get on the four-wheeler. I thought it best to leave the office at this point and commenced loading my vehicle and left the site. Again, the campground and it's residence are amazing, but they could do with getting rid of Sherri. She is an embarrassment to the staff and on an power trip.
What an awesome place to go ride your toys and camp with friends and family. The reason for my low service rating the check in process is very slow and line is long. It’s the same line to check in or to buy anything even a bag of ice you must stand in line for a very long time until they check everyone in in front of you, this is not good.
Beautiful area right on the Peace River. They have RV hookups as well as tent camping. They also have nice bathroom facilities with showers. They have laundry mats as well to wash all those wet clothes. They have a pool & river access. You can also get a day pass for ATV riding.
The young ladies that work the front were NASTY and very rude!!! We drove two hours to spend the day there and decided not to after confronting a very angry short lady with glasses at the entrance. If that’s their welcoming committee, I’d hate to see what the rest of the staff is like……
If you are planning on storing your RV at this location, do yourself a favor and don't do it. Last week, we had a trip planned and notified them 24 hours in advance that we would be picking up our RV, as required. Upon arrival, we discovered that one of the tires was completely destroyed. Fortunately, we had a spare and were able to replace it. However, when we notified the woman in the office, who, I must say, has a very nasty attitude, she stated that they are not responsible for the damage. While I understand that they may not be responsible for damages beyond their control, I find it unacceptable that employees appear to have been careless while moving RVs and did not even have the decency to notify us of the damage. We were traveling with a baby, and it is fortunate that we discovered the issue before leaving, as an accident could have occurred. I am very disappointed and believe they should at least hire employees who care about the customers' property. The front desk staff should also improve their attitude toward paying customers.
