Customer feedback highlights the property's beauty and welcoming atmosphere. Many guests appreciate the attention to detail and the variety of seating areas that offer both privacy and community. However, some visitors have noted that while the campground is nice, it currently lacks full resort amenities such as restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, and a gate guard. The $29 resort fee has been a point of contention for some guests, who argue it should be waived until more amenities are available.
Despite these areas for improvement, Arch Ray on The River remains a popular choice for travelers seeking a unique camping experience in the Texas Hill Country.

What a beautiful property! You can tell the owners definitely took their time with every detail. It is regal, yet very welcoming! The grounds are transcending and are relaxing. I love the various areas of seating that feel intimate and yet very communal. The live entertainment seals the deal for me! Love coming back here!
We are seasoned and well traveled RVers for over 20 years and here are our thoughts and review of Arch Ray Resort. We booked two nights at Arch Ray Resort. While it was a very nice campground with level gravel sites it lacked in the resort aspect. We understand this is a new campground/resort and the amount of emails and phone calls we got to tell us so was a little annoying especially since none of those things are open. The email was very specific on checking in with gate guard to receive wristbands and packet. There is no gate guard and no gate. Luckily we knew the site number from our email confirmation so we just pulled to our site where a packet was attached. We knew the clubhouse and pool were not open as they are currently under construction in the site next door where the main campground will be. These sights seem to be for future short term camping potentially. Also there is no restrooms, shower house, laundry or anything made available. Also the trail to walk to the restaurant, brewery and distillery is not marked or not marked well as we only knew about it because of campground map. While the campground is nice and the sites are level the $29 resort fee should not have been charged as there are zero resort amenities at this time. The administration fee of $4.46 and the reservation guarantee of $14.58 to able to cancel should something arise are all excessive. We enjoyed the restaurant, brewery and distillery and the food and drinks were good but as for staying at the campground/resort we will not be staying there again. This could have been a 5 star review
We visited a few weeks ago and loved it! Stayed in the Buddy spot and it was just perfect. We got to listen to the owls hoot watch the squirrels play and there were fireflies everywhere haven't seen them since I was a child. Also the welcome package was very nice had treats for the fur babies.
We had a great weekend at Arch Ray RV Park. The sites are large and level with full hook ups, check in was a breeze. We were in the buddy sites with another couple, the sites back up to the trail that goes to the winery/brewery and we all loved the wooded area and privacy of the spots. Speaking of the winery/brewery that is onsite, super short walk. It was amazing! The wine, the beer, the staff, the food, the atmosphere...they are also very pet friendly, my dog was quite spoiled by the hostesses and wait staff, he ate better than we did! LOL. Such a welcoming place. We can't wait to come back!
Family of three visiting Fredericksburg for the first time. Arch Ray location is great and close to Luckenbach, Main Street, and Walmart. The staff are really nice and pleasant to speak to but the “resort” is not there yet. At the current state the price should be about 35-40 bucks a day. The website and advertisement is totally false but will be complete in 1-3 years. The brewery/winery are not on location and definitely not walking distance but more of a drive. The campsites are gravel so wear good walking shoes. There is absolutely no shade or trees in 90% of the “resort”. No pool, no bathhouse and no laundry facilities. I also was unable to connect to the WIFI on my televisions . The little river and creeks were dry, no blame to them. The “resort” is right off 290 but there is no fencing or gate to enter/exit which is concerning. I would no suggest you stay in your camper during the heat of the day as mine took time to cool off with it being 101 degrees. I would suggest you drive over to the brewery, it’s nice and they had good beer. Also, there are cheaper campgrounds with mature trees and facilities to use. I say skip Arch Ray and stay somewhere else until it’s a true resort.
