Archie Knowles Campground is a hidden gem. Well maintained and tidy. The restrooms are clean and have flushing toilets. Greg is the best Camp Host we've ever encountered. Very helpful and attentive. We will be going back next year.
Our camping experience here at Archie Knowles was July 1st-4th 2024. This is a small campground, but so quaint. It’s dry camping only. The creek is such a great area for kids to play in. Our grandboys found crawdads, Gardner snakes and all the little fish. Greg our camp host was the nicest guy and a wonderful camp host. You can tell he takes pride in his work. The park was clean, along with the restrooms. He’s so generous with his Otto Pops, as he shares with the kids. A great sense of humor. He watches out for his campers. It’s sad that the people that come in and don’t pay are the rudest as they are the guilty parties. Case in point-a woman came into the park, drove through then parked on the dry grass where all the signs say “no parking” then went down to the creek to get high. Greg very calmly informed her that she is not allowed to park there. It was a 95 degree day and could start a fire. None of us want that in this beautiful area. This woman was the one that raised her voice yelling back, spewing all kinds of things calling him names. Sounds like she never left jr high as she got called out. My husband, along with the 2 grandboys and myself want to thank Greg for being the best host of all the camps we’ve been at.
This is a small but beautiful campground by Knowles Creek, spot 7 and 8 are really nice. The Camp Host Greg is really helpful, kind and funny. He is a genuinely good human being. You do get a bit of road noise but the creek makes up for that Bathrooms were really clean
This was our first time camping here and we have been very impressed. The park host has been so friendly and knowledgeable. Gave us information on where to hit the beach, see some waterfalls and check out some awesome sea lions!! He has been so helpful with everything. The park is clean and well kept, bathrooms and all. The host does a great job and greets anyone who drives in. We loved that because he was quick to point us in the right direction and seems to do a great job keeping track of who is going into the campground so he knows who is supposed to be where and we felt really good about that. He seems to really keep a great eye on the whole place! There is a lot of road noise but that same road takes you on a 30 minute drive to the amazing coast! So it’s worth it! We have loved our stay!
This campground is a hidden gem. Greg, the camp host, is seriously the best camp host I have ever met. He makes staying there incredibly fun and keeps the place so clean and run well! The setting is gorgeous, with old trees and a lovely creek flowing through the camp. The bathrooms are wonderfully clean and well stocked if you need to stop for a break. Thank you Greg!
The cleanest campground of my 30 day road trip. The host does a superb job. Not a dog poop anywhere. Only place I have been where you can let you kids play in nature with out fear of what they might be touching. THE BEST close to highway but doesn’t bother me.
