This park isn’t just beautiful—it’s restorative. Every step feels like an opportunity to reconnect with nature, to breathe in the fresh forest air, and to marvel at the timelessness of these trees, some of which are over 1,000 years old. Armstrong Redwoods is more than a park; it’s an experience. It’s perfect for anyone who wants to escape into nature and witness its grandeur firsthand. Highly recommended!
Lots of cool critters! I flipped some logs near the welcome center (do not flip logs on the trail) and found an ensatina, plenty of California slender salamanders, cool millipedes, a small centipede, and more! I also found a redwood side-band snail near one of the trees, right next to a buttons banana slug!!! Also I saw a couple of these beautiful red wax caps. Overall I would highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a quick scenic walk in the redwood forest.
Recommend taking at least half a day to really explore all the trails and taking in the natural beauty of the forest. Smaller crowds and less foot traffic. It’s quiet and beautiful.
Beautiful place Dogs are allowed, but only on the paved roads. Safe trails for elderly and small children that make it easy to get around the park. Advantage hikers can find some fun trails going up the mountain side. Slow down and enjoy the wonders of this park.
It's a fantastic place to visit.. we had our lunch and did the trail to the 2 big trees(Colonel Armstrong and parsons tree) in the park.. it's a simple trail with minimal to no elevation gain It's cool even when the temperature is high, thanks to the tall trees
