"This was our second stay at Arnold AFB FamCamp and we enjoyed it very much. The campground is wooded and the lake views are amazing. Cindy and Mike at Outdoor Rec were both very helpful and friendly."

While most reviews highlight the positive aspects of the park, some guests have provided constructive feedback regarding specific areas for improvement. For instance:

"The cabins can be one room(one full bed and one bunk bed), two room (two bunks in a back room and a full bed in the front room), or a deluxe cabin which is supposedly supposed to have a kitchen… not sure about a bathroom. The AC is in the back and will not reach the front room unless the door is open - which we didn’t because of our kids sleeping in the back room. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. All the docks need to be either repaired or maintained. The volleyball court is filling with grass."

Arnold Air Force Base Outdoor Recreation is a seasonal facility, so it's important to check their operating schedule before planning your visit. The park is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Sundays are closed.

3 stars because this is for all of outdoor Rec - but my review is specifically for the Cabin rentals. I would not recommend them for families with little kids. The bathrooms are not attached and are very very dirty. The cabins can be one room(one full bed and one bunk bed), two room (two bunks in a back room and a full bed in the front room), or a deluxe cabin which is supposedly supposed to have a kitchen… not sure about a bathroom. The AC is in the back and will not reach the front room unless the door is open - which we didn’t because of our kids sleeping in the back room. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. All the docks need to be either repaired or maintained. The volleyball court is filling with grass. There is a fire pit if you bring your own equipment for it. There are bear proof garbage cans which can be hard to open. It was $70 a night and honestly I would have paid $20 and no more for this experience.

Very nice staff. They told us a lot about the area and things to do. Booked cabins and plan on renting a boat when we stay. Great thing for weekend fun if you live close by. Cabins are rather cheap. Hopefully will enjoy the stay.

If you are active duty, retired, dod civilian, no better place to bring the RV. Best fam camp, right on the lake. They have a boat dock available for fam camp users as well. ODR also rents numerous boats for reaso rates. Pontoons, ski boat, bass boat, sail boats, all purchased in the last 2 years. They also have kayaks, canoes, and other water toys.

Definitely have your jack pads ready. Most of the sites are not well graded and are not level. Could use additional signage to help navigate the campground. On the plus side, most of the sites have concrete pads. Check in was easy and they were very nice. Kinda remote and not much to do. Which may be a plus if that is what you are looking for. For those with access, commissary nearby is okay, smallish. Exchange is extremely small, I thought we walked into the Package Store. Laundry was good 1 wash and dryer, but reasonably priced. Bathhouse is well kept with plenty of hot water and good showerheads. Overall, didn't hate it, but didn't love it either.

A absolute hidden gem. Nice concrete pads with electric and water. Has a free to use dump buddy. Very nice views of the lake, deer and wildlife all over. BX and Commissary about 5 miles from the FamCamp.

This campground is immaculate with all the amenities that a camper needs! The grounds and sites are taken care of properly. The laundry works great! The staff are respectful, professional, and friendly. What May not be common knowledge is that there are mountain bike trails within a few hundred yards of the campground and they’re fantastic.

While only open to DOD employees this is a quiet, peaceful location with a lake view. It has a TINY beach that will fit a family of four comfortably in back of one of the rv spots. The camp stays quiet if you don't mind the loudspeaker blaring three to five times a day from the operations center. The bathrooms are clean and fully functional but there are water saver shower heads so the water pressure isn't all that great, just personal opinion. Water and electric hook ups are available, 30 and 50 amp, but no sewer connection. Blue boys are provided and a dumping station behind the bathrooms. The commissary and BX are pretty tiny and there is no gas station on base. There are plenty of sights to see, hiking areas and local color if you choose. Overall we are having a great experience here.
