Cool little campground. It's literally right next to Santa Fe Ski. It's in the middle of the parking lot essentially. Free, and only a few spots. Great views, and so much hiking, right next to the trailhead.
Excellent "primitive" campground. You can park pretty close and carry your gear but it's not pull up front. No potable water from what I can tell but you can filter water from the creek. However the grounds are nice and well kept. Absolutely beautiful surroundings. Each "site" has a picnic table and fire ring. We were here mid April and we were one of two cars actually camping. The others were parked for some backpacking adventures. There is an outhouse that is surprisingly clean. There are also trash bins that are critter proof. Bring your own sanitizer and hot dogs.
Such an awesome free campsite. Tons of sites tucked back in the outer ring with fire pits and great shade from the trees. Free bathrooms and ample trash disposal. Great overlooks on the drive up as well.
Very top of mountain. Only suitable for van/ rv camping. Basically just a parking lot around an area with picnic tables and fire pits. It's free, there are vault toilets. Avoid the crowds at the other nearby campgrounds and park here for a night.
