Aspen Campground Introduce

Aspen Campground offers a unique and tranquil camping experience nestled in the heart of Walden, Colorado. This picturesque campground is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts looking to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and immerse themselves in nature's beauty. Located at 80480, Aspen Campground provides a rustic yet convenient base camp for exploring the surrounding area, with easy access to hiking trails, fishing spots, and breathtaking views.

Aspen Campground is part of the larger platform category "Campgrounds & RV Parks," making it an ideal destination for both tent campers and recreational vehicle (RV) owners. The campground features seven individual camping sites, each offering a good balance of privacy and accessibility. The vault toilet at Aspen Campground has recently been updated, ensuring visitors have access to clean facilities.

One of the standout features of Aspen Campground is its water pump, which provides essential water for drinking, cooking, and cleaning. However, it's worth noting that some guests have reported the water appearing rusty, which may be a minor inconvenience for those with sensitive preferences regarding water quality. Despite this, the campground remains a popular choice among travelers passing through the area.

Aspen Campground is particularly appealing for its rustic charm and secluded atmosphere. The sites are spaced out enough to offer privacy, making it an excellent spot for couples or small families looking to enjoy nature without feeling crowded. The lack of large rig-friendly spaces may be a limitation for some, but the campground's charm often compensates for this.

Adjacent to Aspen Campground lies another charming camping area along FR 740, offering dispersed camping options and even campsites right by the creek. However, cell service decreases as you move further away from Aspen Campground, which might be a consideration for those who prefer staying connected.

The campground's proximity to local attractions makes it an ideal base for exploring the area. Visitors can enjoy fishing in nearby streams, hiking on scenic trails, and taking in the stunning mountain vistas. Whether you're passing through or planning to stay for several days, Aspen Campground provides a convenient and comfortable starting point for your adventures.

No hand sanitizer. No dates on clipboard as to when bathrooms were cleaned. Old decrepit, broken wood bench at my campsite. Out of payment envelopes.

A great place to spend the night if you're passing through. The vault toilet is brand new in 2021. Each spot is fairly private. It has trash service. There are seven camping sites. The campground also has a water pump but the water came out rusty looking. It's a rustic campground not a lot of room for large rigs for sure. I would give it five stars but for the water. If you continue down FR 740 you'll find copious amounts of dispersed camping and another little campground that was right by the creek. But cell service drops off shortly past Aspen Campgrounds.

Very rustic with 4 or 5 camp sites. Toilet and bear proof trash. Water too. $10 on this day we visited.

So disappointing! We had a reservation at this campground and showed up to find a cryptic sign that said it wasn’t being maintained by park services due to vandalism. Garbage bins were filled and it was clear due to people’s reservation tags that a ranger hadn’t been there in days. We left and did not camp there and now are in a lurch. We had no warning that this had happened to the campsite.

Nice, small, simple place. Not for bigger rigs. Fire ring and picnic table and central water spigot. Nothing more but pretty and you can hear the river.
