Camped here on a weekend in January using a tent. We were at an RV/tent no utilities site. We enjoyed our stay very much. The views were spectacular wherever you turn. Some sites are really close to one another. Each site has a water spigot, picnic table with shade, barbecue grill and a firepit. The shower was not working that weekend. Not sure how long there was no water available at the shower area. There was no hot water in the bathroom, but it was very clean and well-maintained. In fact, the whole campground was clean and well-maintained. It was cold, so we really needed the coats, hats and gloves that we brought.
We ended up staying here one night with our 3 year old and 1.5 year old. This place was absolutely amazing. Our 3 year old loved climbing "the mountains". We didn't expect much assuming the kids wouldn't be able to climb much, but this place is very accessible. There are so many places to hike around and climb, we had a blast! We were also fortunate enough to see the ram that roam the park. I will say that the bathrooms could use a little touching up. I took one of the kids in with me into the bathroom and got close to touching a Black Widow spider. Other than that this place is breathtaking and should be experienced.
Most of the campsites are basic, offering a shelter over the picnic table and a fire pit, with easy access to toilets. Although when were were there, one of the toilets was being worked on - or so it seemed. The electric/water sites cost extra, but worth it especially if it is hot. Highly recommend getting a reservation well in advance if you want/need W/E. Most of the sites seem pretty level and many are tucked up amongst the rocks.
Beautiful scenery. Small campground with, maybe, a dozen or so sites with electricity but all have water. Double dump station.
This is probably the most beautiful place I have ever camped. Easy access to all parts of the park from here. Good wildlife viewing during the day and great stargazing at night. The restrooms and showers were surprisingly nice/clean. Recommend reserving online before you go.
