We had so much fun and it was so beautiful. It was very private and peaceful as well. At night we looked up and the stars are so bright and beautiful. We loved this area.
We had a great time. Stayed a week caught fish at camp and on river. Place was clean, very few people, a non hassle week with son in- law Joel Kelley all the small mouth we wanted most close to 1 lb never weighed our largest and a few cats 6.2 lb being the largest. Used night crawlers bottom fishing I want to ad no cell service and gps on phone is useless. Have to drive 5-10 miles up the hill to make a call. You will have to take care of any problems yourself
Good place for a weekend get away. Water is warmer in the basin than the river so swimming is good although some of the basin will fill with milfoil. There are a couple covered shelters with picnic tables and fire pits. This however most if not all the shade. It can get very hot. Bathroom can get gross and recent years has shown an increase in graffiti. But is generally stocked. You won't find any water or electricity - so bring your own.
Very windy, no comfortable area to set down tent. LOTS of rattle snakes in warmer months. Hundreds of them. Don't bring a pet
It's a pretty remote place to launch a boat but does have several covered picnic tables. The road in is pretty rough, there's a toilet and, it's pack it in, pack it out and there's no drinking water.
Free spacious camping spaces, Beautiful scenery, great fishing especially for bass and catfish, bbq pits and covered picnic tables at most camping spaces, a great place for the entire family human or fur babies, there's a slight walk to the bathroom & no garbage cans or dumpster so if you bring it in you take it out with you.
