Hiking
Good for kids
Camped here many times. Very private, not much in the way of firewood nearby. Since the controlled burn last spring (2023), the palmetto and scrub brush have really kicked into gear and add a nice bit of color to the area.
They recently moved this campsite quite a bit closer. You can take the nature trial out just a ways past the easement and you'll see it on your left. Very private, nice and spread out and plenty of shade.
Nice camp site with room for tents and hammocks. Fire pit etc. Hike to get to the site is not so nice, lots of sugar sand on a truck trail really. Not sure if it was damaged during recent fires.
This is the location of the old campsite. The park moved it and hasn't updated their maps. A bit West of here is a newer Campsite #1 pin. That's the correct one.
Just gorgeous, and peaceful.
