Customer Reviews
Lower Loop site 13. The driveway was slightly sloped, but the tent pad was level. I've never been a huge fan of gravel tent pads, but with a little extra supplies, it works for us. Our 9x7 tent fit great. The lake was only a few seconds away. No one bothered us, which is the way we like it. Thursday night, it was super quiet. Friday night, the families arrived with kids, but still no serious issues. It is a family campground, after all. The bathrooms and showers mostly worked. But, sometimes things break and are out of order. We were about a 30 second walk from the dumpster and water station. Even with the burn ban, people were still building fires in the fire pit. It wasn't really cold, so we chose not to risk being the reason for another wildfire. Badin Lake is still one of my favorite places to visit.
The campsites are nice, bathrooms are decent, and most of the sites are a short walk to the lake. The price is pretty good for what you get. There is a grill, picnic table, and fire ring at every site which is nice. The only downside is that some of the sites are pretty close together, which is standard at other similar campsites. I had great cell signal the whole time which was a plus.
Good view of the lake. The tent pads are gravel but very reasonable. The fire ring was a big bigger than we are used to.... with a raised grate for the fire to sit on... so a slightly different set up and a ring on the ground.
Great campground, decent facilities, and Joe, the host, was very friendly and accommodating. Large, private lots and, if you can, get a waterfront site. My only complaint is the website dupped us, be careful when booking. Go see Joe!
Camp sites are so close together, no privacy at all!! Some campers beside me came in around 9pm stayed up ALL NIGHT, loud music, laughing, using profanity, drinking and they went to sleep at 5AM...TOTALLY ruined my stay!!!! And restrooms and bathhouse are disgusting!!! I will NOT be coming back!!! Very disappointing!!! 5/17/25
