Bakers Hole Campground Introduce

Welcome to Bakers Hole Campground, located at 250 Parkline Trail, West Yellowstone, MT 59758. As a part of the Campgrounds & RV Parks category, Bakers Hole provides a convenient and rustic camping experience for those looking to explore Yellowstone National Park and the surrounding area. You can contact them at (406) 646-1012 or +1 406-646-1012.

Bakers Hole Campground offers a variety of campsites, including those with electric hookups and primitive tent sites with no hookups. Sites are described as well-spaced and level. Reservations are available for some sites, while others are first-come, first-served. The campground's location provides easy access to Yellowstone National Park and the town of West Yellowstone.

Campground amenities are relatively basic, reflecting a more rustic camping experience. Reviews indicate outhouse-style toilets, which are cleaned regularly by staff. However, they lack sinks and can become odorous during hot weather. There are no showers or dump stations on-site. Campers needing to dump RV tanks will have to do so in the town of West Yellowstone, and this service is reportedly expensive. Bear boxes are provided at each campsite for food storage, which is crucial due to the presence of wildlife, including grizzly bears.

Key features of Bakers Hole Campground:

  • Proximity to Yellowstone National Park and West Yellowstone.
  • Spacious and level campsites, some with electric hookups.
  • River access for fishing and potential swimming.
  • Bear boxes for food storage.
  • Outhouse-style toilets.
  • Friendly and helpful camp hosts.

Reviewers have highlighted the campground's quiet atmosphere and convenient location for exploring Yellowstone. However, potential campers should be aware of highway noise, which subsides around 10 pm. The presence of grizzly bears necessitates strict adherence to bear safety guidelines, including carrying bear spray. The nearby river offers opportunities for fishing and potentially swimming, adding to the outdoor experience.

Overall, Bakers Hole Campground provides a great base for exploring Yellowstone National Park, particularly for those seeking a more rustic and nature-oriented camping experience. However, campers should be prepared for basic amenities and the potential for wildlife encounters. It is recommended to contact the campground directly for the most up to date information regarding reservations and availability.

We stayed here for a few days to explore Yellowstone. This whole campground is pretty primitive. We had a tent campsite (no electric/water). It was exactly what we wanted and price was good. It was nice and quiet. No running showers/bathrooms. The bathrooms were outhouses with one toilet per outhouse, no sink, and smelled pretty bad by the end of the day (due to people not closing the toilet lid and the summer heat) but there was staff who regularly cleaned them. We saw a huge grizzly bear that walked up on us as we were cooking over the fire one evening, they have bear boxes on each campsite for food storage but BRING BEAR SPRAY if you stay here. You have been warned. Beautiful river right next the to campground to fish in, might be deep enough to swim. Overall, great experience. The folks who worked there were lovely. We'll be back and definitely recommend this campground.

Great location for exploring Yellowstone NP and city of West Yellowstone. Sites are well spaced and level. Some sites have electric only and the rest have no hookups. Some sites are first come and some can be reserved. I took one star off for highway noise, which ends around 10 pm and one star due to no dump station. You have to go into town and be ripped off for $30 to dump your RV tanks. Camp host are very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay again would stay again.

Great jump off point for West Yellowstone. Nice wooded campsites on the Madison River. Campground was quiet. They have an artesian well near the river. Park across from the camp hosts and walk towards River about 100 ft excellent water. There is no dump station

We stayed two nights at that campground. The hosts of the campground gave us the feeling of not being welcome, we felt like they are nice to regular guests, but not those passing through or international guests. We got told off for putting up a line for drying clothes between trees, we got asked to attach it to the bear box and the car. So next day when we really had to dry clothes we attached the lines not to the trees but bear box and our hammock (with wide straps). The host then told us not very friendly that it is not okay as well having a hammock hanging, though our neighbors had hammocks up for the three days we were there. Also a bear came into the campground, people did not care about proper food storage but only getting pictures. When I told the host about that a bear came by, they acted like they didn’t believe me and asked the neighbors if it was true. If I were a bear I would also visit that campground, garbage cans were not properly locked and garbage in the vault toilets. All in all we didn’t feel welcome and we didn’t feel safe. Thus, the rangers that came by later notifying people about the bear sighting and reminding of proper food storage were super nice. Location was ok for getting into Yellowstone, highway was super noisy.

Perfect campground if you’re looking to “tough it”. Elk and bear wander the surrounding area. Lots of wooded, shaded spots; which we really appreciated as we tent camp. The hosts were very helpful. First come first serve though, so get there before lunch. Only downside is no amenities including flush toilets, showers, etc.

Really pretty campground. A little close to main road, but not bad at night. Paved roads with gravel sites that are fairly level. Pit toilets. Close to river for fishing. No showers or dump station. Close to West Yellowstone for easy park entry.

Taylor and Russel were on their first days as camp hosts, and they were great. As in GREAT. Kept everything clean, and were just all around nice people. They also helped us find an RV repair person on a Sunday when our RV sprung a propane leak in the regulator. Lost a star because it's so close to the highway, but it was a really nice stay

We stayed at this Cmpgrd fir 1st time. We went to W YS and the campgrnd was nice and clean hosts were great. Its close to town. And airport. Didn't see any wildlife in park except ground squirrels that were cute to watch. We loved this campground and would definitly be back and recommend. We stayed in site 49 and just a short walk to the river. Has vault toliets and plenty of water spigets thru out the campgrd.
