Bamberton Campsite Introduce
Discover Bamberton Campsite, a provincial campground under the BC Parks system, offering a natural camping experience within the Campgrounds & RV Parks category. Located in F, BC, this smaller campground, with approximately 45 sites, is noted by visitors for being very well maintained.
The environment at Bamberton Campsite offers decent-sized sites, with most providing privacy between them. The campground is equipped with bear-proof bins to ensure safe storage of food and attractants. Each pitch includes picnic benches and fire pits for convenient outdoor cooking and relaxation. While close to highways, noise from car traffic at night is reported to be minimal. A walking trail is located nearby for those wishing to explore the surroundings.
Services at Bamberton Campsite are basic, consistent with many provincial campgrounds. The facilities include pit toilets. Water is available on-site. Rangers are present and visible, driving around the site approximately each hour to ensure order and can assist with information. Firewood is sold by the rangers for $10 a bundle. It's important to note that dishwashing sinks do not appear to be available at this campground, and crucially, there are no showers on-site. For those requiring showers, Goldstream campground is recommended instead. Quiet hours are respected and enforced, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep.
Key features of Bamberton Campsite include its well-maintained nature and the privacy offered by most campsites. The presence of bear-proof bins, picnic benches, and fire pits on each pitch enhances the camping experience. The nearby walking trail provides opportunities for recreation. The enforcement of quiet hours contributes to a restful environment. However, a significant feature to be aware of is the absence of showers and dishwashing sinks. Additionally, some sites, such as #19, require the use of stairs for access, which may not be suitable for individuals with limited physical abilities, and parking for these sites might be located outside the immediate campsite area. It is recommended to check the BC Parks reservations site for specific details about individual sites.
Promotional information is not explicitly stated, but the positive feedback regarding the well-maintained nature of the campground and the privacy of the sites suggests a pleasant camping experience for those comfortable with the available amenities. Local users seeking a quieter, well-kept provincial campground with privacy and essential facilities like bear-proof storage and fire pits, and who do not require showers, will find Bamberton Campsite a suitable option. The proximity to a walking trail also adds to its appeal for nature enthusiasts. However, the lack of showers is a significant factor to consider when making a booking.
For inquiries or reservations, you can contact Bamberton Campsite at (250) 474-1336 or +1 250-474-1336. It is advisable to book in advance, especially during peak season, as mentioned in one of the reviews.

Customer Reviews
Provincial campsite which we have reserved about one week in advance. We arrived around 4pm to find a mobile home in our pitch. We explained that we had reserved/ paid for the pitch (we had our confirmation on the phone). They moved on within 10 to 15 minutes after they packed up! Then a ranger came around to check our reservation. 😃 we finally got set up and settled in. The campsite as bear proof bins, pit toilets and water. There were picnic benches and fire pits on each pitch. The ranger explained that raccoons can be a bit mischievous and to ensure a Bare Campsite ( which we always do anyway) in case of raccoon visitors. The rangers were selling firewood for $10 a bundle but we didn’t need a fire as we had a stove. Our neighbours were friendly and respectful. Ranger drove around the site approx each hour. Always good as they can check all is in order. Bamberton park is approx 1.6 km away with a cold water outdoor shower if you are brave enough.
Will come back here if we don't mind not having showers. Small campgound with only about 45 sites. Very well maintained provincial campground. Pits toilets only. Didn't seem to see dishwashing sinks available. No showers at this campground. If you want showers stay at the Goldstream campground! Most sites had privacy between sites. For several sites you need to use stairs to access which might not be recommended for people with limited physical abilities. In addition for those sites, your car might need to park right outside of the campsite instead of the typical parking right inside the campsite. E.g. site # 19. Check the bc parks reservations site for more and details. There were shades too. Decent size sites. There was a walking trail nearby. Even though it was close to the highways we didn't hear much car noises at night. Like all other provincial campgrounds the quiet hours were respected and enforced.
We love this campground. Nice size, it has privacy, quiet, drinkable water, and a clean washroom. The worker will empty the garbage and clean the washroom every day. This is probably the only campground that is really well maintained. It was fun to go jogging at the beach, and the hiking trail was the best. Perfect for those who like cardio. This campground is a very affordable price, but you need to make a reservation. It takes only 30 minutes to go to Victoria, which is a good option. There are many spots for beach access, which is only 5 minutes away and we enjoyed it very much. Overall great experience, and we will come back here again.
The campground is a fair hike back uphill from the beach if you go by foot. The trail is nice though and the beach is great for swimming. It is a great place to stay and visit some of the other spectacular places in the area. It is also very close to Victoria if you are wanting to spend time there as well as it makes a great spot for tourists. There are only a few first-come-first served spots though so reservations are highly recommended during the summer months.
We had a lot of fun here cycle camping with 10 of us. Like many BC Parks, Bamberton has lots of space between sites and well taken care of facilities. The trail to the beach is a steep one, but the beach is a must visit. So enjoy the walk down…the walk up is a bit of a grind.
