We had a wonderful stay at the Bar Harbor KOA Campground. The location is unbeatable and it is well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived. The campground offers plenty of activities for all ages. They also have nice bathrooms and a very well-stocked camp store. The sites are nice and offer a great mix of options, from tent camping to RV hookups and even cabins. We stayed in one of the waterfront view sites, but even if you are not they have a seated viewing area on the water which is a great spot for sunsets. It’s a close drive to Acadia National Park and downtown Bar Harbor, which made exploring the area super easy. Most of my pics have family and I don’t really like to post those but this was a misty morning view but shows view. Overall, the Bar Harbor KOA exceeded our expectations! it’s tied as one of the best campgrounds we’ve ever been to, right alongside the one in the Redwoods in Crescent City, CA. Whether you’re looking for a quiet retreat or a fun family getaway with lots to do, this campground is a perfect choice. We’ll definitely be back!
This was my first KOA experience, and I was very happy. I called at about 4pm looking for a site for the night. They accommodated me quite well. My site was what they called a hybrid site, it could work for rent or a very small camper, like a pop up, or a tear drop, or a van. My site had this little kitchen area that had a nice roof with an overhang on it. That was awesome. (If someone from the campground is reading this, make more of those!!!!) It was raining, and that gave me a place to sit and not get wet. I was very happy. The bathrooms were clean, and conveniently located. The hot shower was nice, and it was free. I would definitely recommend this one to a friend.
We stayed in the best tent site they offer (Site 405), and we were not disappointed. The views were beautiful, and the pictures don't do the sunset justice..... It's just amazing. The staff were friendly, and the restrooms/showers were clean every time we were there. We had the pleasure of being there on a Sunday, and we very much enjoyed the pancake breakfast. The blueberry pancakes were everything that they were promised to be and more..... So good! Thank you to the KOA Oceanside/Bar Harbor Staff for helping us to make great memories for our 5th Anniversary.
Awesome campground. Had a waterfront site, little pricey but worth it. Lobster trap had great food and the lobster guy who comes a few Days a week makes the best lobster roll In the area. All the staff were nice. Last day there the electricity and water was out, but they made it right and refunded us for that day without us even asking them to, which was the right thing to do. Great proximity to Acadia and some nearby shopping and restaurants. 100% would recommend this place, we full time rv and stay at a lot of Campgrounds, this one does it right!
Worst KOA experience we’ve had unfortunately. Beware if you’re staying in the cabins! The mattress on the large bed couldn’t even be called one. The wooden slats dug into my back & hips. There are 3 bathrooms in front of the cabin area which is nice in the proximity but absolutely filthy. We drove to gas stations to use the bathroom because of how disgusting they were. Trash cans overflowing, floor filthy, dirty toilet paper all over the floor, pee on the floor & seats. There’s several areas where septic/sewer smell is very strong & when it rains we couldn’t open the doors or windows because it smelled so bad. They are packed in & loud. You can hear everything! It wasn’t quiet from screaming children & adults until midnight. You are oceanfront which is beautiful & the proximity to everything is great. The staff was all friendly who we came across. An rv or deluxe cabin may be better. Will never stay here again.
