I used to love coming here, and miss the old camp hosts. The campground bathrooms have become unusable/very dirty and most recently, they shutdown the campground due to the bathrooms due to plumbing issues. I hope the new hosts can become more organized to restore this place to how Carol and Roy used to manage it.

Had an alright two nights here camping from Sunday-Tues. Campsites are clean, and well-spaced. Restrooms are a few porta-potties. The pond is walkable and gorgeous in a beautiful little bowl of mountains that always seems to catch a cloud. Amazing star-gazing, and I bet there's some great fishing to be had. However, there's very little presence of anyone "running" the campsite. Our site was reserved online, and was clearly marked out for us, but we did not interact with any staff, and ended up grabbing the last bundle of firewood which wasn't re-stocked on Monday. Second night had a large group of college-aged kids partying and singing loudly till around 9:30-10-ish (well after sundown), and I'm not sure if they were told to quiet down, or did it themselves. Also had what I assume was a Chatham local do a drive through in his sedan, racing around the loop with high-beams on and blasting on his horn. Only happened once around 9pm on a Monday night, but was kind of exasperating, and I'm glad no one got hurt. No swingsets or anything like that for kids, but that's alright for a campground like this. Our 4-year old found plenty of rocks to climb and jump off of, and was able to run around without us feeling like he was bothering others.

Spent almost 3 days here. The campground is very well maintained as well as the area around the pond, if you want to swim beware of leeches. I wasn't expecting to loose cell reception but it was a nice respite from technology for the weekend. The bathrooms definitely need work but luckily the porta potties were very clean.

We had gone to this campground for many years before Covid. We stopped by the other day in our car, July 2024, and were amazed how this campground has gone downhill. We understand that the wonderful longtime hosts retired a few years ago. The campsites are getting overgrow. The bathrooms are deplorable with one bathroom completely closed down and most of the beautiful slate tiles all torn up. They have replaced them with porta-potties. The public picnic area is a mess with overgrown trees and un-mowed grass. The boat launch has a large metal piece sticking up right where you back your trailer in. The Forest Service should be embarrassed with how this campground appears now. We won’t be going here in the future.

Rooms are campsites which are very clean. The restroom is clean. Very nice folks taking care of the grounds. I was glad to know that there are people who can help you out if your car won't start!
