Beautiful! Stunning views, most camp sites are nestled in the trees. Most sites are relatively private, some super unique spots. A wicked large site for groups. Extra parking, coded showers, horse shoes, beach views, fire pits, grills , covered gazebo's (for rent). (but they have stove tops for use w/rental.) Def recommend, just please remember to leave no trace.
Convenient location for exploring a beautiful area. Quiet and clean with good privacy in site 64 at this time of year. Friendly and helpful host. Be sure to visit Sunset Bay State Park and walk/climb down to the beach at Cape Aragon. Excellent fresh seafood at nearby Chuck's Market to cook at the firepit.
It was a great place to watch the sunset. The playground has been upgraded so that was nice. Most camp hosts were nice except for the one lady with the white dog. She was rude to most, unless you were the few she liked. The lady with the short hair was so amazing and went above and beyond to make you feel comfortable there. The rude camphost lives in the bottom loop camping area, so I suggest camping in the top area away from her. I think the c and d loops. The bottom bathrooms were horrible and need to be upgraded. We stayed in the top section, which the bathrooms had their own toilet, sink, and shower. They were also coded. So those bathrooms were more up to date and much nicer. We stayed for a week. The fog horns are super annoying and is why I wouldn’t stay here again. They go off every 30 seconds and it seems like they get much louder at night time.
We stayed on the lower level of the campground. Our campsite was nice, but the bathrooms were run down. Both shower rooms were ice cold and so was the water, in the women's shower. The bathrooms need TLC for sure. Camp host did not seem enthusiastic about answering questions, either. We most likely will not stay again, unless there are upgrades to the bathrooms.
One of my favorite camp places along the pacific coast. We stayed in site 51 this time (Electric water)and had a nice view of the ocean in the morning and evening. I also like site 52 and in the upper sites you get more sun, which is nice too. This last time, 1 of their 2 dump stations were not operational (the park was crowed) hopefully this gets fixed. Nice place to stay and easy access to the beach below. You do hear the horn all night but it can be soothing along with the ocean sounds. I will continue 5o come back.
