We were in site 70 and very pleased with our stay. There's a bit of road noise from nearby Hwy 21 in this loop, but we use a white noise machine at night. Probably the best bathrooms I've seen in a state park in a long time (with a dish washing station!). Clean 50amp power, decent water pressure at 40psi, site was level. Great walking trails at the front of the park. Pretty good cell service. Fishing available in the small lake toward the entrance to the park.

Beautiful park with lots of trees and well-maintained hiking trails—perfect for a camping trip. They offer full hookup pull-through sites, electric/water sites, tent sites, and cabins, providing plenty of options. We've camped here several times, and it's always a nice, relaxing stay. The trails are a joy to hike, and the entire park is just a peaceful escape. Highly recommend!

After many times trying to find sites available in this park, we finally got the change to spend a weekend and we were totally amazed how beautiful the park is. We stayed in the Copperas creek camping area, site 53. Area is surrounded by very tall pines, it makes you feel you are not in Texas. Sites are spacious and the area is very quiet. There is a nice and newly renovated restroom for the camping area, always clean and it has A/C. 👍🏼 Park has a good trails system, well maintained. We hiked the Red Scenic Overlook trail and part of the Purple Trail. My only complaint would be the noise from the traffic at night, since park is very close to the highway. Convenient location: less than 2 hours drive from San Antonio, same from Houston, 40 min from Austin. And there is a Buc-ee’s at 10 min 👍🏼👍🏼 Can’t wait to go back to Bastrop SP soon!!

Very nice park. Free for military vets with ID. The veteran and 1 person get in free, all extra persons are $5 each. Leashed dogs are welcomed. My family rented a cabin, dogs are not allowed in cabins. There's also a pool to go swimming. The water is very warm during the day. No shade over the water. Lots of trails for walking. They do provide a map in the office however the roads also have signs and direct you where to go. Wear big spray. I saw many types of bugs that love to bite or sting. Perfect place for people who enjoy outdoors and this is also a lovely place for picnicking and fishing.
