Customer Reviews
We were quite disappointed to find that our rooms were over $100 each after having been told moments before arriving that the cost was $86 per room. The owner said “cost and demand,” even though we only noticed 3 other hotel guests during our stay! That being said, we were thankful for the rooms. However, there were two major issues with the rooms: (1) The ventilation system really needs to be quieted down and also cleaned! (See photos). It sounded like a single engine trying to take off in the bathroom. (2) Microfiber sheets that kept sliding off the mattress! Horrible plastic sweat mess! Cotton people! Cotton! And four minor issues: (1) The “Do Not Disturb” sign was on my door, but the maid knocked anyway. (2) There were two bottles of conditioner in the shower, and no shampoo. (3) There was no coffee maker, no microwave, and no refrigerator in the rooms. (4) Room needed updating - curtains falling off, finishes, etc. What was nice: (1) The continental breakfast was more than adequate, and there were several items to chose from. We had the dining room to ourselves! (2) The owner’s wife (?) shared information about the herbs she was growing which smelled wonderful! (3) We were within walking distance of a gas station/convenience store.
The staff and Manager are awesome. Room was clean and well maintained. Awesome hot Breakfast every morning. Hot tub and pool were awesome. Not fancy but clean. We stayed with our pets and the manager was very accommodating to our pets. Laundry was accessible and cheap.
If I could give no stars I would. Everything seemed fine on arrival, Typical I-40 hotel. We got into the room and it smelt terrible. there were bugs on the pillowcases and upon pulling the mattress down off the headboard there were filthy dirty sheets underneath covered in hair and red stains and little dead deadbug exoskeletons. not to mention the little black dots all over the corner of the sheets and headboard. We tried to speak to the manager and not make a huge fuss about it so we could just get our refund and be on our way. The first manager accused us of showing pictures that weren't from his hotel {wtf??} and the second manager, his wife, went to the room with us, smooshed the bugs between her fingers and said it was no problem.. they lied and said they couldnt refund us our money and priceline would have to do it but when we called priceline they told us the hotel had to confirm the refund and then they flat out refused it.. this place is disgusting.
Clean place and the bed was so comfortable I over slept. Didn't want to get up. Also there is a in ground in door pool and hot tub. Oh they have a breakfast I the morning. Huge selection waffles, grits, English muffins, bagels, white & wheat bread, sausage links, eggs, cereal, milk, apple juice, coffee, tea, & a mess load of condiments. I may have forgot something... There's plenty of food to get you going in the morning
We had to stop on our way home from taking supplies to NC for the flood victims. I did not look online for prices, as I'm usually told if I book straight through the hotel, it's usually cheaper. The guy charged us $100 more than the rates online!! Plus the sheets had stains and holes and the shower curtain rod is being held on with clamps! I'm beyond furious at how much we were charged for this 1 night stay! Will not come back here.
