So this hotel front desk just must only hire rude staff! This is my second stay and the first time it was lady this time it was a man both very rude and short barley make eye contact at all! Ask questions and both just acted like it was a bother to check me in. Only good thing about 2 nd stay is I got the room I booked. Bottom floor 1 bed. Last time I booked same and she said she was full. Mind you I was only car in lot and she put me far from stairs. No elevator at all! Both times Rooms were clean thank goodness! But both times showers leak and maintenance upkeep in bathroom is a must. Cracks in wall .
I recently stayed at the Baymont Inn in Florence, Alabama, and would give it a 3 out of 5. Overall, I got what I paid for, and it met my basic expectations. The bed was comfortable, and the room seemed clean — no sign of bugs, and the sink, toilet, and bathtub were clean. The staff in the office were friendly, and I didn’t feel unsafe during my stay. However, there were a few issues. When we first arrived, the room had a very strong smell of cleaning chemicals, and we had to leave the door open for a while to air it out. The most inconvenient problem was the sticky floors. While I assume they were clean because of the strong chemical smell, the floors were so sticky that I had to wear shoes whenever I got out of bed, even in the middle of the night. Socks didn’t help, as they stuck to the floor too. It seems like either the cleaning solution wasn’t wiped off properly or the wrong type of cleaner was used for the floor. Overall, it was a budget stay, and it served its purpose, but the sticky floors were a significant drawback.
Very disappointed!! I checked in and went to the room (209). I put my bags down and went to put soda in frig and saw dried blood spot on the floor. Walked back across the room and a cockroach was walking across the bed. I grabbed my bags and set them on the desk. Called my husband and decided i wasn't staying and as i picked my bags up off the desk here came another cockroach across the desk. I went down and ask for a refund and was informed that i would have to go through Booking.com (which is unreachable) to get my money. Offered to show pictures of the blood and roach and the girl at the counter didn't even care to look.
I feel sorry for anyone else paying the ridiculously high rates that they charge only to not have a working refrigerator, the ice machine was out of order and from what I was told it had been out of order for several months, also you couldn't even use the pool because for some reason it was closed the entire time I was there (a week) and it was green!!! The people managing it was extremely friendly, but I personally DON'T think you should have to pay top rates for such a terrible place!!! The reason I say that is I fought with ant's and saw roaches 🤮🤮!!! The reason I stayed at their facility for so long was because I had my dog with me and they're pet friendly!!!
Checked in around 4 pm and came to find the a/c wasn’t working so I told the front desk and they said the maintenance man wasn’t there at the moment but he would be by to fix it. Got back later that evening and the a/c wasn’t fixed so I had to go buy a box fan to sleep somewhat comfortably. Told them again the next morning about my A/C being out and was told they would let someone know. The cleaning lady didn’t replenish the soap or the wash cloths and they don’t speak English so they couldn’t tell what we were asking for. So another trip to the store for soap. Got back the second evening of my stay and the a/c still had not been fixed. They didn’t fix it until my last night there. Killed two beetles crawling on the walls. Very unhappy with this place.
