We love Yogi Bears! But this one was so tiny & Spots are really tight. The price we paid for a wk is cant complain about, great prices for the area! The main office closes early so we had to get wood from the grocery store. No kids activities at this location or hayrides (like the other campgrounds). The lady that worked there mentioned they were selling it and it will be named Cove Bear campground.
So this was my first time at Jellystone RV in Pigeon Forge, TN and will probably be my last. The staff was pleasant and the campground was clean and quiet, it was just way too cramped with sites. Our site was so close to another site that we could not put our awnings out. The site pad was so narrow that we could not use the picnic table that was provided, we had to move it off the pad to be behind the site, which was almost a ditch, so not useable even on the grass. And don’t get me started on parking. If you do go, don’t show up in two vehicles, there is barely room at each site to park the truck that pulled the camper. Aside from feeling very pinned in, it was nice to be close to local attractions.
I saw many negative reviews, so, I was a little worried. Once I got there, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The cabin was more than I expected even after seeing a virtual tour from their YouTube. Everything was clean. We had a huge deck with a gas grill in which I used all three nights and every morning for breakfast. My children even got a personal visit from Yogi Bear himself. Located close to everything in Pigeon Forge. Definitely a vacation to remember. Thanks again for everything the staff did. We will be back.
We called 2 weeks in advance to verify they were doing programming and were assured even in the off season they would be doing it over the holiday week. The campground was at nearly 100% occupancy over this week and they did not! We had both an RV and a cabin for the week. We ultimately learned we were the last renter of a cabin they will be demolishing! The experience in this cabin was commensurate with their decision to destroy it. (They did give us a credit after telling us this.) The RV sites are extremely cramped and terraced, but at least level and concrete pads. The wifi was down when arrived and we were told it was the weekend and no one would fix until at least Monday. The roads are horrible and if you have a low car it will scrape in some places. The playground is very sad, not up to modern Jellystone standards. Pools are all outdoor and closed outside of summer. There was a garbage pile alongside the road of carpet and a discarded vacuum cleaner that never moved all week. Look out when you are coming from the North as the sign is completely obscured by trees and you may miss it. Great location away from the strip and easy in out to Dollywood. The staff were very nice. Ultimately, of all the Jellystone campgrounds we have stayed at this was the worst.
Staff not friendly. No welcome… before I walked in office door, all I heard was “last name?” Not welcoming at all. Had to pick my own golf cart and “call back with which number I close”. Lady checking me in ask co worker “what carts are out there” she responded “I don’t know”. So I was told here’s a key, go pick one and call me back with which one you choose.(don’t waste money. Campground way too small to need a golf cart) Phone numbers to reach desk do not work. Sites way too close. Our fire pit was in neighbor’s site behind their electric box. No privacy. Neighbor asked us while sitting by our fire if it was ok if he opened his black tank 😳 just to put into perspective how tight sites are. Not easy to park … esp a 43’fifth wheel. This is the 4th Jellystone we’ve stayed at and for the first time we are VERY disappointed. We were looking forward to a nice thanksgiving weekend but ended up leaving a day early …. Very disappointing … pictures are misleading. Very small sites/campground. No refunds and can NEVER speak with anybody about problems/concerns.
