Definitely close to the city as you can still hear the highway, but it’s still a great outdoor space! The ranger helped with ants our first night and it was a great getaway for the weekend.
This lake is very popular with locals. The campground is separated from day use area and was very peaceful and quiet. Flushing toilets. Coin operated showers. $1.00 for 5 min. It seemed like the water ran longer than 5 minutes. Bathrooms were cleaned every morning.
Very well located for red rocks concerts. Electric hookups, clean bathrooms and showers (showers are a nominal fee). The staff was very friendly. I took off a star because there are no trees, no shade, and there were a couple weird folks just loitering there during the day. But that's more location issues than anything.
The sites are huge and level. There is no water hookup, but a nice water fill station and several spigots throughout the park. Access to bike trail. My biggest complaint is the lack of hygiene facilities. The shower house has only two showers, and there is only one sink. I waited in line each time I needed the sink. We camped at Bear Creek Lake Park Campground in a Motorhome. There is a playground, dogs must be leashed.
Nice large park near the Denver/Lakewood area. Electric only, but has fresh water fill and dump.
