The name implied it was right on the water, and it wasn't. However the actual Marina was within 1/4 mile and you could see it from the campgrounds entrance. We were ready for a heated pool and jacuzzi, but they were already closed for the season. Everything else was wonderful. On arrival, I realized my assigned camping space wouldn't accommodate my SUV and SUV tent. I requested a move next door, and it wasn't a problem. Joy was great to work with during the day, and the nighttime manager was eager to help us out. Bathrooms were clean all the time, campsites were clean and all the amenities were great. We had a wonderful time!
Nice place, office staff were very friendly, especially Nancy and Judy. Nice spots, I stayed in a patio spot with a bbq. The bbq with propane is included, nice grass area for dogs, very clean spot. The bathrooms were clean and really nice. I love this place, grocery store right next door, I will come back for sure. Their premium spots have wood fences on both sides, so you get that seclusion feel. Just remember this is the bigger KOA I'm rating in bear lake, there is a smaller one as well, down the road.
Our favorite place to camp near bear lake! My kids absolutely LOVE staying here and look forward to our trip every year. They particularly love the big bounce pad as well as the mini golf and pool. I love the amenities and that I can camp while still having access to a bathroom and shower. Loved the text updates we got this year (don’t remember them in years past but I could be wrong). We stayed at the big tent site this year. It was nice to have a privacy fence as well as electrical hookups and water on site.
This is my first KOA and it was a pretty good experience. This location was close to the Marina, where we rented boats, gas station, shops, and restaurants which was convenient when we wanted to get away from the camp site. Checking in was good. Our check in time was 1 pm but we had to wait an extra hour since they were still prepping the place. I understood since summer is pretty busy. Our kids spent time at the playground that had a jump area and playground. Apparently they do different activities throughout the day/weekend and the day we got there, it was kids arts and crafts which was a cute idea. We stayed in a cabin that had a full size bed and bunk, perfect for our family of four. We didn’t have a built in bathroom or AC but the temp at night is good with the fresh air. Walking to the bathroom to use it and shower was a tiny inconvenient especially when there’s a small wait and in the middle of the night but we just chalked it up to the experience. Plus we saved more $ with that option and I felt it was worth it. For the cabin, we did have to bring our own linens and pillows. The workers there are always seen working and keeping the place clean. Overall, we had a good experience and would not mind going back again. Maybe we’ll save up to get their fancier cabins like the lofts that come with a jacuzzi just to change up our experience.
What a delightful park. Location is perfect. We especially liked our spot with a hot tub. Grocery shopping was a few steps away. Expensive for our premium spot but well worth it. Neat and clean with plenty of things for the kids/ family to enjoy.
My wife and I usually love tent camping at this site. They have wonderful amenities for campers with 3 different bathroom and shower options. We have seen it all weather wise from rain, snow, high winds and have enjoyed it all. However the last two years they have put a maintenance shed at the end of the tent camping location, so we got to hear equipment and maintenance vehicles driving by every 5-10 minutes from 9am til 5pm. No peace what so ever. Definitely made the trip more of a hassle and unpleasant.
